Despite some of his awful mistakes in the Arsenal game, since he came back from his suspension he has been very good for most of his games. He's not putting in many silly tackles or challenges like he used to, his passing is actually very much improved.

A lot of his long passes have set up chances. His attitude is a lot better, and he seems a lot less aggressive in a bad way, but aggressive in a good way!

Regardless of those saying he's been less consistent and stuff, his tactical awareness has been gradually improving. And his last 3 match suspension gave him the time to calm down, recover from injury, and he seems a lot better now.

I'm glad to have the old Tiote back.

I'm really pissed off at all the people say we need a new Defensive Mid. Tiote is class, and I will stick by him. We are better with him, than without him.

My only concern about him is his disciplinary record.

    How has his attitude changed?

Taking everything into account, Cheick should be a supporters dream even if you take out his work on the pitch. For all the weird gripes people have about Ba and his loyalty etc, Tiote is the opposite. He's only ever made positive noises about living in Newcastle, he went to Newcastle College for English lessons and a qualification, and he signed a 5 year contract when he was fairly hot property. He's never likely to be in the papers, plainly because he's not such an easy target.

i think Tiote will stay with us until Man Utd or Man City realise he's better than what they've got. Imagine Tiote at City, he'd allow them to finally drop Barry and move toure upfront where he's more effective for my fantasy football team :bandit:

He's been better since getting back. He has reined himself in a bit but his passing is still off the mark. His defensive work is as good as ever but he has another two or three gears to me

The Tiote of last year would be very much appreciated for the rest of the season especially if slightly less reckless. We are going to need battlers giving nothing less 100% at all times.

For all his faults, I'm still a big fan of Tiote's.

I'm a huge fan of Tiote. Let's face it, if any of you wanted to go to war and had to take one man with you from the Newcastle team, it would be Tiote. In a similar way, opponents would hate having to face Tiote and would love to have him as a teammate as he would do most of the dirty work for you. A lot of this isn't appreciated enough, he battles hard for the ball and had been the subject of massive scrutiny by referees the last season, resulting in a lot of cards racked up. This season he has toned down his aggressiveness, but he still has periods where he looks totally gassed and is unable to help out. I think the moment we get rid of him, we'll immediately recognise how much we miss this player.

From what I see, Bigi is nowhere near the presence Tiote has in a game. Bigi doesn't impose himself onto games that well yet, and hasn't been able to cover as much defensive ground as Tiote does. He is still a project, and in no way should we see Bigi as a like for like replacement in the short term.

Put it simply, we need to keep Tiote around. He is class, and he will be back to form eventually.

For me... Bigi is the long term successor for Tiote.
The kid just seems to ooze class beyond his years.

Sorry lads but Tiote was pretty much non effective tonight. Everton's midfield were way on top.

Seem too remember the first game of 2012 tiote Single handedly bossed the man utd midfield. Fast forward a year he looks a shadow of himself I'd be inclined too sell him in the summer if he's form doesn't improve after Acon

I'm going to predict it here and now... Tiote will be sold either this month or in the summer.
Ashley is a businessman and he is effectively seeing his assets (Tiote) value depreciate almost by the game.
Pards said MA had let him keep the squad together for one more year and half way through said year I'd be surprised if MA didn't say 'hang on a minute... if I don't sell one or two now... I may never get the same chance again'.
I think his realistic value now is more like £15m though.
