Rugby League testimonials are given out randomly?

Obviously in football it's 10 years at a club, ala Andy Dawson. But just seen Mike White tweeting about a Hull FC player's testimonial and thought, I'm sure that is about the 4th 'testimonial' in the last 2 or 3 years I've read/heard about for a Hull FC player, and thought surely they don't have that many 'long-serving' players, so wiki'd it and, well read it for yourself, I'm baffled:

Why is football 10 years, which is quite a rare thing to happen in football, especially these days?

Testimonials in RL are different to football, testimonials are awarded for ten years at one club (like Kirk Yeaman's having at FC now) that last for a year, or 3 month testimonials are awarded by the RFL after 300 games (i think)
