    Another story about Gyan.................

ASAMOAH Gyan is attracting interest from several clubs in the Middle East as the Sunderland striker’s loan deal nears a conclusion.

Gyan’s future at the Stadium of Light continues to look uncertain despite the arrival of Martin O’Neill as Black Cats boss.

O’Neill is still to hold talks with the Ghana hitman after succeeding Steve Bruce, with little indication that the 26-year-old wants to return to Wearside following September’s orchestrated move to the United Arab Emirates.

Gyan’s club Al-Ain are keen to convert his £6million loan move into a permanent switch and are likely to have the finances available to meet Sunderland’s asking price for the former Udinese forward.

But there has been interest elsewhere in the UAE for Gyan, who has hit 10 goals in helping Al-Ain to the top of their domestic league and provided a timely boost to the profile of Middle East football ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

O’Neill told the Echo: “I don’t think the position has changed that much.

“But there was another club out there in the United Arab Emirates looking at his services. I know I said some weeks ago that I’d be hoping to speak to him. But one day has run into the next and I haven’t had a chance.”

Al-Ain will remain in pole position for Gyan, who has been richly-rewarded for his season-long spell with Cosmin Olaroiu’s side, earning an estimated net fee of £3.5m in wages.

Certainly, it’s difficult to see Gyan returning to Sunderland, with the striker alienating both supporters and the club’s hierarchy with his attempts to earn a move away at the start of the season.

Romanian Olaroiu has publicly claimed that he expects Gyan to remain with Al-Ain beyond the end of the campaign. But he admits that Gyan will ultimately be the one who decides whether he wants another shot at the Premier League.

“I see things going well here for him and I hopes he continues with Al Ain because everyone loves him here,” said Olaroiu, who insists Gyan is in need of a rest after his exertions in the African Cup of Nations. But at the end he is the one to decide on whether he stays here.”

    Boring story? yep....
