I'm embarrassed to be an England fan

  1. We all know Fabio Capello is scared to pick players that he thinks will make him look bad, ie Joey Barton, and that he'd rather protect his and the clubs reputation by picking players to "represent the country", rather than picking players that will win games.

I've talked to alot of England fans, and i've asked them if they think Joey Barton deserves an England call up.

Apart from a few people, most of them said that Joey Barton has gotten much better as a player, but they'd be embarrassed to see him "representing England".

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! <grr><grr><grr>

Who gives a **** about what the rest of the world says about your squad, and who the **** cares if people say "oh England have a team for of violent thugs". ATLEAST WE'LL BE ****ING WINNING GAMES MAN!!

We all know Joey Barton has changed, but no one else can accept that a man that was once a criminal, is getting a break and a fresh start. Wayne Rooney has shagged a pack of slags, and cheated on this pregnant wife. He still gets his place?

So what would you rather have?

A bloke who's extremely passionate, committed and tactically aware, but has a history of violence, or a little angry, ogre looking twat, that learned his life lessons from Alan Pardew?

I tell you who i'd rather have. BOTH!!! Because they're both good players!! I don't give a **** who Rooney shags. I feel bad for his poor wife, the poor cow, she deserves better, but i want Rooney to play because he's a passionate, skilled and an overall brilliant player.

I think we need to follow Germany's approach.

Mainly look for players under 27, and only go above that age limit if there's a shortage in quality

Whilst there is always the issue of bringing in the younger players, a player between the ages of 27 and 32 is probably in their prime and added to their inborn talents will be the experience thay have built up over the years making them far more effective. Would you disgard all players at 27 irrespective of their record?

Sorry but I just read the first sentence again, "Capello is scared to pick players that he thinks will make him look bad", I don't get this if you are talking about Barton, how in the hell is picking Barton going to make Capello look bad, the only thing that would be bad would be if Barton lost it and got sent off, dumb, welcome back Tash.

As an outsider, I have no problem with 'people like Barton' representing England. Partly because I don't really give a **** about them, and partly because when I do show an interest I want the best players available to be in the starting XI. I highly doubt that Barton would be in the first team for WC or Euro games, but surely the idea of these stupid friendlies is to give players like him, Kevin Nolan, Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll (please forgive me), Jack Wilsher a chance. It shouldn't matter what they get up to off the pitch in their personal lives, or how old they are.

Oh, and what the **** was that fat **** owner of yours thinking by replacing Carroll with SHEFKI ****ING KUQI? A

I don't care one bit about the national team. I wouldn't be bothered if they scrapped the national teams and I never saw England play again. Mainly because I hate the likes of Terry, Cole, Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney who get in the team regardless of form and are all in one way or another annoying, ******ed, arrogant, tossers or generally up their own arse. Maybe if England played as a 'team' rather than 11 individuals with over-inflated ego's who think they have some god given right to win the World Cup then I'd give them a chance.

I'd be happy for the England U21's to play for us rather than the full England squad. At least they have a passion to play for our country rather than having over inflated egos and pay packets like the so-called 'proper' England squad.

I don't mean permanently only look for players under 27, but draw a line under it now so that we'll have better chances in the next few tournaments
