...And I'm sure you've all missed me terribly. Or not. I would ask everyone's opinion on the squad's current state, but it already looks like we're having a war against each other and it probably wouldn't be wise to start another battle on that front! Ah well, I'll do it anyway! At the end of the day though guys, we're all leeds fans and we should respect each other's opinions and rights to support the club in whatever way they desire... Personally, I am looking at the situation in a fairly positive light - think we do need more than 3 signings though. I'd be happy with Peltier, Crainie (for cover across the back 4), a top centre half (Kilgallon would be perfect, although unlikely!), a creative midfielder (possibly Stephen Quinn, would prefer better though), then Templeton and possibly a striker, although personally I wouldn't like Maynard or Beckford. If McCormack stays, I wouldn't bother with a forward. Think 4-5-1 is probably the likely formation, although now Snoddy has left I think it will be Austin to hold, with Norris/Green alongside a creative midfielder. Varney out wide with White/Templeton or another signing and Becchio through the middle. Would prefer a direct replacement for Becchio rather than someone like Beckford, so we're not chopping and changing formations throughout the season when Becchio's injured/knackered/suspended. On a side note, think Rogers could be a wildcard for us this year - although after Nunez I won't get my hopes up too high!
spot on Already shared my opinions on how I see the squad shaping up so I will refrain from commenting other than I agree we need more than three more players
Hey Kiwi, welcome back fella, where you been??? Agree with Rogers, he seems to have an eye for goals, hope he keeps that up...
Been staying at my dad's so I could work over summer for some extra cash! Haven't had much of a chance for this, glad to be back though! Think Rogers certainly could be a big player this year - let's just hope he builds on a promising start to pre-season.
Sorry, I don't see what others see in Rogers, he's as best a squad player and more likely a player who will be sent out on loan towards Christmas time, never really to return.
Quite possibly, but he does seem to have pace and a little unpredictability, which we're definitely lacking in and both can go a long way towards making a successful player in this division
Warnock is not putting together a squad that requires pace and any technical skill, it's fighting at all times and winning games by 1-0. Any player that comes to Leeds thinking they will be playing football on the deck and with passing and movement, will fail, that's not the Warnock way, they must give 100% and grind out results, with the defence not conceding. I doubt Rogers will shine this season, it's probably not the right team for him now.
I'll wait and see if these 'marquee' signings suggest any differently...but now you're probably right!
