and probs slit my wrists as well!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.journallive.co.uk/safc/s...for-potential-sunderland-move-61634-31235979/ dont see the point in bringing in a 6th choice centre mid as he is no better than the 5 we already have at the club our 1paced midfield will be even slower if we bring this lad in need a central midfielder with vision and a bit of pace, Manu Fernandes all the way!
If mon thinks he is good enough that's good enough for me It's been a long time since we had a manager I completely trust.
He would make a good replacement for Catts when he is suspended as he does have the ability to get stuck in - I can't see him getting that much game time otherwise.
He looked very good for Ireland and Im shocked West Brom have let him go. Its not something that excites me as he's around the same level we have. However if we were to sell say Gardner for 5m and bring Andrews in for free that's a good deal imo.
for me it aint, we might of made 5m but we will still have an average central midfield, would much rather put the 5m towards a central midfielder that has abit of class about there game that will improve us. just my opinion like
Fair, the way I see it is upfront is our biggest priority and if we can sell a midfielder for a decent fee whilst replacing him with a player as good for free then using that money to go toward the areas we really need to improve is good business. If the money was there id love a creative cm but strikers are an absolute must. Barnsley signed Mido yesterday even he's better than Whickham and Ji (tongue only half in cheek) I know Manu Fernandez is free and id love that to come off but don't see it.
I'm gonna do a 'Syd on Saha' here. This would be a ****ing pathetic move, we have at least 5 better CM's at the club already in Gardner,Catts, Vaughan, Meyler & Carrot top. This is a woeful move if true.
some have suggested that he would be a good back up to Catts and for me I hope the club do not have that attitude. our midfield is average, 1 reason newcastle have done so well is because they have a very good central midfield in Tiote and Cabaye. If we are bringing in players as back up to our average lot then there is something wrong, we need players to come in that are better than what we have or potentially better and Keith Andrews does not fit into those categories. If money is a problem which you suggest then the loan market seriously needs to be looked at, there will be far better players available on loans from the top clubs in the league and from the top clubs in Europe who we should certainly be interested in if we do not have much money to spend. I do not see the point in this transfer as we have Meyler, Catts, Colback, Richardson, Vaughan and Gardner who are all better central midfielders than Keith Andrews. For me its improve on what we have or go for a young player with plenty of potential or stick with what we have, no point in having even more average plodder on our wage list then every summer we will be trying to get them off and improve and we will never have a settled squad over a long period of time
Nothing wrong with trusting a manager, everything wrong with not questioning anything he ever does regardless of your own opinions.
Sometimes a summer signing sets out the ambitions of a club...a signing like Andrews does worry me, but I do have faith in MoN. We need a signing that will spark the interest in the fans, get season tickets sold...a player like Andrews tells me we are now a club looking for has-beens..a bad sign in my opinion.
I see where your coming from but the point you made about Newcastle, id say the main reason the did well is because they had two strikers who could put the ball in the back of the net. We currently have none
Andrews, Fletcher and Saha, whilst none of these have paraded on the pitch by little trees with a Sunderland home shirt yet, so it may just be paper talk! The message is folks we have no cash, so yes Sess may go in order to raise funds for strikers who are not likely to be as good as the likes of Bent, Welbeck or Gyan. However ATM we would be relegation fodder with the present crop of strikers that are on the books!
