Look at the signings you've made, you clearly have a better squad and team than last season, and even if you sell Bale, you've replaced him with top quality players.
All comes down to what happens between now and the end of the window. If the deals that are rumoured to be going through happen then Avb has no excuses not to get us top 4. Yeah the squad might take a little while to settle but the quality would be outstanding. If Arsenal get the Real players they're rumoured to be after then we can't expect an easy ride but if Avb can't pip at least one of last year's top 4 then he's not the quality manager we need. With the depth we've got too, we can expect good cup runs and again that falls on Avb's head. Over to you, Mr. Villas Boas.
On paper it looks great, but so many new players along with their ego's need to settle in learn the lingo etc. We had to work hard to beat Palace and I expect a few possible hiccups in the next month or two till things gel, but, yeah, I'm a lot more confidant this season for a top 4 push. and hope it doesn't all go to **** and we end up a laughing stock, we are Spurs after all
there are always hiccups, even for the manchesters, they are unavoidable, we need to not go nuts like the Arsenal fans have if we get 1 or 2 early on
Cheers Carrick, I hope so too. I've been amazed at the talent we've managed to bring in this window and if Willian and Lamela are completed, then the potential loss of Bale would be far easier to take. I just hope all the lads can gel quickly, there's no doubt that the talent on paper can rival any team but it's just the case of making sure they know how to play with each other and do what's right for the team. Going to be an interesting last few days before the window shuts that's for sure.
We are spurs mate...a small part of me is hopeful but the rest of me is expecting us to find a new and ingenious way of screwing up!
Agreed, they'll be bumps and bruises along the way but i feel you've got a better team than last season in my opinion.
Defintely. We are a multi-threat team now i think rather than just Bale-danger. Plus, AVB is bringing in players to fit his vision rather than shoehorning our existing players into how he wants to play. It _should_ be a good team once its all settled down
Yes, absolutely. Look at the truck-load of players who have been shipped out. By the end of this window, half the starting XI could be AVB's men. This is the chance he never got at Chelsea, and would never have been afforded at the likes of PSG or Real - the chance to build his own team in line with his own vision. If AVB is, indeed, a young Mourhino who is destined to become the next coaching genius, then we are on the threshold of perhaps the most exciting time in this club's history, since the late 50s/early 60s. If, on the other hand, it all goes tits up, at least we can all tell our grand-kids that we lived to see the day when Spurs finally purchased NEW STRIKER.
nufc fan here. Good luck this season, finally looking like you're going to break through into the top 4, maybe even more. Very jealous of your squad, manger, chairman etc. Looking a class act. Enjoy you selfs!
Until we seen this team play together and actually win games in style and also big games, important games, its all just hype, as while on paper it looks all good, going by what some are saying you would think we're dead certs to win the title! Lets see what happens when we're half way through the season, sitting in 3rd/4th and we have a tough away game needing a win to show how mentally tough we are, or if come April we're in a tight race for 3rd/4th and have to go on a winning run, this is when I'll be saying "AVB & Baldini have done a great job" if we can actually produce, but right now its all hype and we haven't proved anything yet.
who has made out we are dead certs for the title? I've read all the threads and i've seen nothing like that
Some do believe we're building an amazing squad, every player will settle, we trying to challenge for the title and everything is perfect, thats how some are reacting, not just on here, never said everyone.
Boss, I don't want to sound like a red Mouser, here, but I have a very strong feeling that this year is going to be our year.* *WARNING! this post contains a certain amount of tongue-in-cheek humour that is unassisted by a smiley. Casual non-partisan wumsters are reminded that humour does still exist on this board. Thank you for your patience.
Mate iif that happens then I'll quote you in my signature (first time ever) and proudly put you there LOL....(minus the disclaimer)
Let's be honest, if there's a team that can mess up Champions League qualification, it's us. Missing out on Top 4 due to food poisoning or finishing Top 4 but being denied CL qualification because UEFA are spineless idiots pretending that five PL teams have been in the CL before (Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton and Liverpool were all in the 2005/6 draw) we find a way!
