I'll be happy if we just sign another CB this summer and that's it!

I'd prefer 2-3 more players, preferably a left back, centerback and a winger...

But I think signing one CB would constitute a good summer transfer window, and a LB can come later on.

A new striker, CM and two CB's - I think this is as good as we could have hoped for.

Mbemba will take a bit of time to settle, but looks like he'll be solid enough.

I think Colo can play his part, but he still doesn't look great. He's been very average the last 2 seasons at least.

 

I would prefer a left back as first priority. Its obvious McLaren feels that Colo will be a key player and I think Dummett fills in better at centre-back than fullback so prefer someone to move Haidara back down to a squad player. Think GCB mentioned possibility of seeing whether Enrique might be available on-loan as he doesn't seem to be getting a look-in at Liverpool. Think this could be a good move as a short term solution.

 

Definitely don't want Enrique back - he has gone backwards as a player! Though LB has to be priority now!

 

I'm a left back man first, centre back 2nd. As bad as Colo was and has been, there is ability there somewhere. Haidara is a different matter altogether. He's just simply never going to good enough. Then there is Dummett who is better for me. However he looks a centre back in a lot of ways. To be honest he looks suited to a back 3 the way he plays (Winston Bogarde/Bruno Martins Indi type role). The problem with him at left back is he is pretty limited in the modern side of the game getting forward.

All in all I think we have serious problem at full back, and a fairly serious one centre back.

To me our winger and striker options are just "nice to have" type problems.

 

Left back and CB for me. Then a striker in Jan when we ship Riviere out.

 

I agree about Dummett being in a different class to Haidara defensively, and also about him being much better suited to being a CB. He isn't as good going forward which is a problem when your play requires attacking full backs, but he is much better at closing down crosses than Haidara.

 

Hardly a glowing tribute though - dracula is better at dealing with crosses than Haidara

 

When did Ray Rearden have to ever deal with crosses?

I'd take Lovren for all his troubles at Liverpool. Still think he is a talented centre half coming into his best years. Enrique - I think we milked the best out of him. Not for me.

 

No Liverpool can buy Williamson for 35 million though.

 

Agree on Lovren. Not for stupid "LFC" money though....

 

P2 and 4 goals against. 3 of those were headers and if McClaren can't see we need a commanding CB instead of Coloccini then he is blind. Yet again Colo wasn't anywhere near Ayew when he scored a free header. ( think he jumped as high as Ayew's shoulder ) PLEASE, PLEASE get a CB quickly

On the evidence of so far we are no better than last season.

If mike thinks 30 million is going to win anything hes off his head. Id say given the quality in the division 100 million is what we needed.
