I'm quite surprised about the attitude of a lot of people in regards to Tiote. Most just seem to be like "Tiote will probably be sold in the Summer. Oh well never mind".

It will be beyond a joke if he's sold. He is EXACTLY the type of player we need to keep and build a team around. Getting hold of such a quality defensive midfielder at this price is very rare. It just wouldn't make sense to sell him on any level.

Sometimes I wonder what the NUFC board want. Are they after a team which can comfortably sit in the top 10 but contains quality players which no one wants to buy? It isn't going to happen. The whole point of being a big club and having some ambition is that you don't just settle for mediocrity and sell your best players. You grow a pair of balls and keep them.

We've got the foundations for a top team at the moment. One of the best defensive midfielders in the EPL (Tiote), one of the best midfielders in the EPL (Barton), one of the best defenders (Enrique and possibly Colo now) and an exceptional class of player in Ben Arfa. There are also numerous other quality players. We're in a very good situation if we can build on that. Selling any of them just going backwards.

Anyway, I have a funny feeling that Tiote wouldn't want to leave if another club made an offer. From what I've heard in interviews, he seems to really love this club, the fans and the passion. There's nowhere else he would be idolised in the way he is here. Just look at his reaction when he scored against Arsenal. I think he really appreciates the way we are. Then again, I said similar things about Carroll.

yes unfortunately for you he is the type of player that is very rare on the market and is exactly the kind of player that both Man Utd and Arsenal need. Man City might come in and offer more than them though

you could get £30 million for him if you play your cards right... ie same price as Essien.

but I should think it is going to be very hard to keep him

I'm just hoping that Tiote has a soft spot for NUFC. We thought Carroll did and it turned out he didn't, but that doesn't mean that everyone is going to be the same as him.

For a lot of players, constant first-team football, a permanent starting place, top 10 finishes, ambition, a decent wage packet and idolisation by thousands of the most passionate fans out there would be more than enough. Let's just hope that Tiote is such a man. We had players stick with us when we were relegated, so there's proof that there ARE players out there who aren't completely turned by more money or playing for a top 4 team.

    Plus, he's even a fan of Pardew's half-time rage.

I also hope that Ashley isn't that stupid to sell him and understands how valuable Tiote is to our future.

I think Tiote is smarter than Carroll. He wouldnt leave for a club going nowhere liek City, Liverpool or Spuds. If he was going to leave it would be to Man U, Arsenal or Chelsea.

Sorry but it's time everyone accepts that Man City are really going for it. Considering a lot of the current squad only came in recently and they will need time to gel properly. When they do they are going to be a major force. They will also offload some of the weaker players and replace them. The likes of Barry and Milner will be out.

Within 2 years they will probably be going close to winning the EPl. Sorry, I dont want to believe it either and if they decide they want Tiote they will get him because they have more money to spend than anyone

yeah they probably do need to change the manager but he will get another season yet. Dzecko might prove to be a great buy and that could help propel them if he starts banging in 30 a season.

Maybe a more attack minded manager might be better? Playing Italian style football in the EPL not really gonna get the job done

You not think that it is all just paper talk???

The window closed a week ago and he has played all of the season so far so other teams have seen plenty of what kind of player he is, so why didn't these £15 million pound bids come in????

    **** stirring from the media.

Come the summer yes we may see these bids coming in, but as someone has already said it would have to be one of the top teams.

Reading interviews with Tiote he isn't a greed player, he knows he's on good money and still sends money home to his family.

Hopefully we'll get him ties down with a new and improved contract sufficient to make him want to stay.
