Funny, but even in the worst of times of being under a Tory government (and there were a few!), I can't ever remember such a backlash against a British government before as there is against this lot.
So the guy that bought a farm to avoid paying inheritance tax, then wrote about it. Is now heading a movement complaining that the law has been changed , mmmm can’t say I have a lot of sympathy for him really, and doesn’t do the farmers cause any good either.
Aside from the Inheritance Tax row, Clarkson has done more to highlight the issues that modern farmers face, including all the red tape and bureaucracy in the running of the farms, and animal husbandry that go with it, than anyone else. And that's according to other farmers, who think he's a hero.
guessed that would be your take on it ... LIFE is more than just being a zombie and following a mundane path. Life is to take care of yourself, to improve your self [ one aspect of the HSA is " a person is in the first instance responsible for their own safety and wellbeing " The law states you should follow the rules and if not you get punished! [The self employed get a message reminding them if they are using tax avoidance [ loopholes! ] in completing their subnission or wording similar] the world also works because some people do better than others and set targets for others to aim at ..people like SL WORK HARD and invest in their future making use of the best ways to be more comfortable and have a "mission" buying a farm and actually working on it, learning how it works and perpetuating an income is brilliant, more should do it ... a lot of farms are being bought by speculators who put in a manager on short terms and the land [green belt ]or some of it gets built on. 2 years or so ago an instance of this happened near Taunton or Wellington! Wanted to build 50 houses on 1 of the fields next to a small Hamlett IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE LAST COURT OF APPEAL AND HE LOST it cost the council £'s and £'s and he lost £'s thousands in legal fee's and costs . doesnt do the farmers any good [or favours] ! .... really your interpretation! THEY would have very little voice and dont forget DYSON BOUGHT A MASSIVE FARM as well so whatever you think of people doing the right thing and taking advantage to better or protect their lives ....... tough they are clever and deserve it
Exactly Angelic A HERO . .. I was brought up in a farming community, at 5 was even driving a tractor ... mind you probably smaller than a smart car ... but was also driving a ex wartime lorry collecting hay or straw at same age !! ............. stretching it a bit to say driving it flat field stood up behind steering wheel and the way to stop was push the clutch in lol ..... so for the past 75 years or so have always had farm / farmers in my social circle. Ashton it seems is anti progressive when it comes to others "making hay while the sun shines"
next Friday they announce the CHRISTMAS NUMBER 1 with streaming now part of it .............who knows!!!!!!
I see the Labour Party, who championed the WASPI women (of which Mrs R&W is one), have now made it clear that they will NOT compensate them - just like the Tories had done before them. One of our good friends - and a former Labour Party member and activist - told us the other day she is fed up with them and doesn’t believe in the current Labour Party. It’s important to remember, however, how we got here; the Tories were so bad after 13 years of promising to make things great, that the people no longer believed them - and voted accordingly. As I’ve said on many political threads; there is no difference between the parties - they will both fk you over - you just have to choose between being fkd by someone wearing a red or someone wearing a blue Gimp suit. The result for you is just as unpleasant and painful.
