@SuperChrissyisfantasticPardswasatrocious - worth putting the link up to Igor's interview with the Belgian press today. - working under Guy Luzon was "pure chaos" - the medical staff at Charlton told him he "really wasn't injured"
The interview confirms what most of us suspected, ie the medical team badly mismanaged his injury. What a pathetic excuse- "The X-rays were taken from the wrong angle", I've never heard such a pathetic load of cobblers. He was such a good player before his injury too, one of Roland's few successful signings, probably because he was scouted by Peeters, not the anonymous Network scout.
Igor would have a cast-iron case if he decided to sue the club, I hope he does. What they've done to his career is an absolute disgrace, a throwback to when injured players were given cortisone injections and shoved back out to play.
Players have to be absolutely certain and with what I guess, a private doctor. I think vermalen made a similar claim with arsenal and it was unfounded due to not having evidence. He had a lacklustre report from the Belgium staff but it went nowhere. It also wouldn't help him as he openly discussed the pitches being tougher in England compared to Denmark and Belgium.
If nothing else, Igor's comments reinforce what we already knew - that under Meire the club is run in a totally unprofessional and incompetent way. How many ex employees have spoken out in this way now? It must be some sort of record.
When people like the CEO or East Kent Addicks wax lyrical about how much money Roland has put into the club, Igor is another illustration, one of many about how throwing money away through incompetence should not be euphemistically termed "putting money into the club".
Well a string of failed players essentially caused us relegation, and then the inability to sign decent players as we're still subsidising their wages. Another reason as to our incredibly thin squad.
A group of Charlton fans on CL were talking to the Fleetwood chairman, who bought them drinks and seemed a top man. He described our CEO as being "Right up her own arse, that one"
Meire didn't even bother attending Fleetwood on Saturday - the club was represented in the Directors Box by Sue Parkes.
I don't think Igor was up for the fight personally. Once things started to get tough he was way off the boil and often started the season overweight. He'll flourish in a league that isn't as rough and ready.
Agreed. Igor lacks the hunger & bottle to step up again in his career. Clear from his social media where his priorities are. Just look at the standard of club that took him on loan.
I always hoped he would reclaim that early season form, but once he was past being an unknown quantity and defenders respected him more, his footballing ability was called in to question. He was found out, and he was unprepared to work hard to find his form. I saw him at Dulwich last pre season and he didn't give a **** that day. That's when the seed of doubt entered my mind.
I'm more inclined to give Igor the benefit of the doubt. Undoubtedly something happened to his attitude, but bearing in mind that our incompetent medical staff were telling him he wasn't really injured when he really was, and knew he was, it must have been a horrible time for the young man. When he first played for us he was a highly motivated player who enjoyed his football with a lot of natural enthusiasm, something which the fans appreciated. If he has lost that enthusiasm it's a crying shame, basically his employers were treating him like **** by accusing him of swinging the lead.
If Igor is telling the truth and feels hard done by it, then surely the club will be expecting a lawsuit? Would fall under them failing him under the duty of care?
