At this point, we only have 2 proper CB's, with a third who can play as a CB but is actually a RB and feels more natural-comfortable at playing as a RB. What the **** happens if Chambers and either Mert-Kos get injured, Monreal?!
No defender from the academy has been worth **** for years, which is why going into the season with six defenders is going to cost us. An area everyone knew needed improvement is now weaker, no two ways about it. Hoping for no injuries is not how an ambitious club mitigates risks.
