I was about to post something on a thread when I thought of an interesting idea. While obvious, and we all do this every day, why not explain what you would do if you appointed manager tomorrow? Would you drop x to play y? How would your future squad look? Try to make it in-depth as well - how would you improve training? Motivation? Perhaps even marketing? Of course, I assume not many of us will have our coaching licenses so this is pure fantasy, and not meant to be taken as a "I know better than Rodgers" type of post. This is completely my opinion and I've tried to support it with my own strange logic. Most of it is common sense and not a change from the status quo, but some of it might not be. 1. Starting XI I will start with my line-ups for next season, from the squad we currently have. I can't decide what the strongest side is, but this is something I'd like to see. Our team of the near future should look something like this: ----------------Reina---------------- -Johnson--Skrtel--Agger---Enrique---- --------------Lucas------------------ -------Henderson---Gerrard----------- -Sturridge----------------Coutinho---- --------------Suarez----------------- Subs: Jones, Wisdom, Kelly, Allen, Suso, Borini, Sterling Youth squads (can't get all the academy players but the more prominent ones) : Ward, Gulacsi, Belford, Sama, McLaughlin, Flanagan, Yesil, Ibe, Sinclair, Morgan, Peterson, Rossiter, Adorjan, Bijev, Dunn, Teixeira, Trickett-Smith, Roddan, Pelosi, Ngoo (loan out, seems to be playing very well), Mukendi. Some of these might start benefitting from loans to clubs like Hearts or championship squads. Transfer policy: OUT: Downing - He has had enough chances, and despite his recent efforts, his best is below top 4 quality. He's already too old to improve, and it took the threat of a transfer to get him trying to succeed. Still a very negative player for a so called winger, which is also not a style of play we need right now. He could command a fee in the 7 or 8m pound region, which I'd take in a heartbeat. Shelvey - Very difficult choice. If Gerrard retires earlier than expected, he can take a spot on the bench. However, I had hoped that he would mature mentally this season but instead he seems to have regressed. Very inconsistent, will have great games for 3 weeks then a horrid month. He's 21 now, the age where many young stars have begun to impress. I will put my neck out and say to sell him, as I see Suso a more technical and well-rounded player for the future. Shelvey could draw a fee of 10-20m only because of his age and international experience. Anything in this region I'd accept. Assaidi - Simply put, I feel bad for him but he's not really impressed me, and if he can't get a spot (no matter whose fault that is) he might as well leave to improve his career. No sense in having an unhappy player on the bench or one that doesn't improve the squad at all. Carragher (retirement). IN: One of: Subotic/Alderweireld: Subotic would be a stretch on the purse but worth every penny. Toby on the other hand could be a good signing, a younger Belgian impressing at Ajax. One of: Eriksen/Thiago/Tello/Jovetic We are alright with attacking and midfield options for now, and all of the names above would require heavy funds, which I'm not sure we have. Any one of them would improve what we have and move us one step up the ladder. Youth policy: I would keep the core of the team the same week in, week out. Benitez was notorious for his rotation policy, and I wouldn't make the same mistake. While Rafa didn't rotate as often as his reputation implies, he did make baffling decisions in terms of form and overall skill level. A simple fix for this is possible. By keeping a spine in the team, individual youth players can come in and have the support around them that they need to improve. A common mistake is when a manager decided to give experience to B-squad players, by playing them with other B-squad players. In that case, they don't have support around them, only competitors and players without experience. They're no better than the people around them and won't succeed. Playing one or two youngsters in a senior squad is much more effective in my opinion and that's the way it would stay. A lot of people have been calling for Ibe, Morgan, or Teixeira to play, but I've watched them play and it's very difficult to tell how good a player is at U21 or U18. I can't say they've put in any of those performances like Sterling did against Southend, which was the point at which he earned himself a start. Every team believes that their average youth prospects look good until they simply leave and do nothing with their careers. If a player makes a consistent effort, (such as the one Pacheco did earlier in the season - 7 assists and 4 goals in 11 matches) then they can start getting onto the bench or onto the senior pitch. Playing style - We currently enjoy large spells of possession, however a vast proportion of this is pointless, neutral passing with no benefit to the team. Observe Barcelona's method of constant attacking passing, possession football in the final third. This requires many long months of practice, even more in fact, which is why our young technical players need to step up and take some personal responsibility with training. Heavy passing training as well as training on how to recieve the ball. The latter is often overlooked, and all the pretty passing in the world will do nothing if you can't accept the ball at any spot on the pitch, coming from any spot on the pitch. I don't think professional footballers train enough - I'm aware of burnout and injury worries but I've seen firsthand what daily training does for players (Partizan Belgrade's school is ranked second in Europe after Ajax, and we have rigorous daily training for youth and senior players). Making a better schedule must be done in the spring months before the season's preparation starts. Other areas of concern are movement (we don't press the opposition fast enough) and positioning (we don't run into space often or play through the middle enough). Training can teach this better, it simply doesn't seem to be a focus of the academy so far. Our academy trains individuals - in the assumption that only one of the 11 will go on to have a senior career at the club. Barcelona trains them as a team, in the hope that they will retain an entire generation of wonderkids, and each year, the stand out players will use their own initiative to break into the squad - see Deulofeu, Cuenca, Tello, Thiago. Other notes: I think Carragher should play one or two games until the end of the season, after which I would reinstate Skrtel. I don't care if he hasn't been up to his standard, his standard is better than Carra's max (nowadays, never in the past). If we don't end up selling him, he's going to be rusty and even worse. Might as well get the Skrtel - Agger partnership back, when Carragher leaves. - Our summer tours need to be redone with harder opposition instead of marketing as the focus. Yes that Asian tour will bring us money, but it can't be the central point of the summer. A two-week tour should be enough, with 3 games. This leaves two weeks for vacations, (during which training will be held on a volunteer basis) and a month for true preparations against solid European squads. Marketing: Other than the pre-season comment above, nothing major would be done - the commercial side of the club seems to be thriving at least. Long term plan: CL within two years, title challenge within 4. How about you? What would you change?
Good post. Starting line up I would swap Suarez with Sturridge. Sturridge is more of a natural striker than Suarez which means he is likely to be in the right position at the right time. If Suarez plays centrally, he often drops deep to get the ball which means there's no one in the box. Transfer Policy Out Agree with you on Downing - simply not good enough and although his form had improved, it's still short of the required quality. It says it all that Coutinho has come in and has contributed more than Downing in only a handful of games. I would still keep Shelvey - he is still a youngster and has time to improve. His performances at u21 level are incredible and is head and shoulders above everyone. Unfortunately, he is struggling to push on in the first team. I think he needs more experience but I'm willing to keep him on. It's a shame re. Assaidi - I think he is a bright player with speed, ability to beat players and has a decent cross. Not sure why he isn't given more opportunities but if Rodgers doesn't fancy him, then so be it. Also, Andy Carroll - whilst he offers a fantastic Plan B, he is far too one dimensional and very expensive to be sitting on the bench. There are plenty of other 'Plan B's' that can offer more than just aerial and physical dominance, and at a fraction of the price. Hopefully we can get around £15m and save £70k p/week. Coates is a funny one. He was the Best Young Player in the Copa America and plays for a very good international team, and is only 21. I do think he has potential but he looks low on confidence. As with Shelvey, I would rather give him time to develop. In We need at least 2 centre backs - Subotic would be a dream signing but very unrealistic IMO. Toby Alderweirald would be a very good signing and would add another classy, composed figure as well as Agger. And then we need the physical presence - I don't mind Williams but only at the right price but even then I want someone with a lot more quality. Sakho would be good as he is strong but he's quick which is key to us playing a high line. I disagree that we're alright for attacking options. Our midfield is extremely weak IMO and has been since we lost Alonso and Mascherano. Our attack is very potent but what if Coutinho, Suarez or Sturridge are injured? Then we're light. Suso and Sterling are top prospects but aren't ready to be regular starters and we can't rely on them to make a solid contribution to the team (Using Coutinho as the benchmark, he creates chances and scores goals). We need another winger as we can't rely on Assaidi and Downing. Also, another creative player - Eriksen is the dream signing for me. A really classy player who can pass, create and has fantastic vision. Not only this, he can keep the ball. Our central midfield is weak - Gerrard is good but can go missing, Lucas is still struggling to regain top form, Allen started brightly but faded however he has potential. Henderson has been good and has potential. Another DM is imperative and a deep lying player maker.
Starting XI current squad ----------------Reina---------------- -Wisdom--Skrtel--Agger---Johnson---- --------------Lucas------------------ -------Henderson---Gerrard----------- -Sturridge----------------Coutinho---- --------------Suarez----------------- OUT: Downing Shelvey Carroll Spearing IN: 2 players, centre back and forward/midfield this depend on budget I want players ready to play and to improve the squad not young players who need to bed in we have enough of those. Playing style - I like the current idea and feel that it's just a matter of us getting better at it. Long term plan: CL next season and improve from there.
I agree on selling Shelvey but I think your estimate of £10m-£20m is a bit optimistic. I think we'd be extremely lucky to get £8m for him, £5m is more realistic IMO. Will respond properly later
Just noticed this, I would agree with Gerrez, we would maybe get 6-7 million for him imo. He may turn out to be a good player and we are better of keeping him for another season at least.
Furthermore, we need competition at full back as well. We have some good youngsters who can compete: Jack Robinson at left back but he;s still raw and we need a bit of experience. Andre Wisdom and Kelly are back up to Johnson but they aren't natural right backs. Johnson has struggled recently and this could be down to the lack of competition.
That's why I've picked him at LB he is a better defender when he plays there but still attacks well. I would argue that Johnson/Enricky are our LB's we need a new RB or start looking at McLaughlin as starting there.
1) I'd get rid of this ridiculous theory that playing a Spanish style will win the English league. Playing like Barcelona is great when you have the best passers of the ball in thje world, it's great when 90% of the teams you play on a weekly basis are trying to play in a similar way but it will never translate to the Prem. Unless Xavi, Iniesta and Messi declare a sudden desire to come and play at Anfield for free I'd build a squad that can play a great, quick passing game, knows how to soak up pressure when necessary and counter attack at pace. Re-introduce the idea that physichal players can be useful. Let's use the West Ham game as an example. Collins could spend the whole game glued to Suarez. Why? Because he didn't need to mark anyone else due to our complete lack of height. As their best defensive header of the ball his role would normally be to mark the biggest threat in the air (a Carroll for example), however as we have no other threat he gets to spend the whole game right on Suarez toes. No variety in our current squad at all. 2) Players out: Borini...no positive attributes at all Allen...see above Sturridge...as I feared, a player with no brain whatsoever. Downing...had his chance. Carra...retiring. Shelvey...sell while we can get a reasonable amount of cash for him. Players in: I'd aim for a top class Hyppia style centre back to replace Carra. A Sakho rather than a Williams though obviously. I'd also try and get a leftie to give Agger some competition. I'd encourage Kelly and Wisdom to step up and challenge too, give them time now when fit or pre-season and early cup games next season. Alonso for Allen. No brainer. Bring back Mandy. Basically he'll cost nothing to bring back and he'd give me as manager a real physical presence up front. Hardly blessed with great intelligence but ultimately Sturridge makes him look like Einstein. Flog Downing, Shelvey and Borini and bring in a proper goal scorer like Cisse and another craftsman like Eriksen. One other player I'd like to bring in would be cover for Lucas. Certain games Alonso could defo do that job but for the real physical encounters I'd want a little scrapper in there if Lucas was out or if I wanted to use two holding players. Easy option is to bring back Spearing, the other option would be to sell Jay and bring in a player like Diame. Both decent squad players. Finally I'd get rid of Jones and bring in a good young keeper to challenge Reina. So we end up with a squad: Two good keepers. Sell Jones for a few mill and buy a class young keeper for same amount. No cost. Defence consisting of Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Sakho (just an example), Kelly, Wisdom and a young player or two (Robinson/Coates although I still have doubts about both). Midfield consisting of Lucas, Alonso, Gerrard, Coutinho and Eriksen (or similar) who can play mid or up front, Diame, Henderson, Suso and Sterling. Forwards consisting of Suarez, Cisse (or similar pacey player WITH a brain), Carroll, Eriksen/Coutinho and again Suso and Sterling who could certainly cover up front or the wide midfield positions. Basically we're still a million ****ing miles away so the squad really does need this much work and so does this "magic" system that is still so easy to counter. We need a busy summer and even then it will only be to challenge for top four which is a pretty shocking indictement of where we're at right now (years of decay rather than all being laid at Rodgers door). How much of the above will happen? Who knows but I suspect we'll be watching Williams next year as opposed to Subotic et al. Eriksen will more likely be playing for one of the Manc clubs and we'll be left watching Allen and Shelvey getting ripped apart. Mandy will be sold and score a hat trick of headers from set pieces every time he plays against us. Chelsea and City will be bringing in players like Cavani and Falcao while we're left to watch Suarez trying to do it all on his own (that's if he even sticks around) and Sturridge managing to find more blind alleys than the laws of physics should allow. If Rodgers doesn't adapt we'll continue in the same vain of looking great against teams who let us play but wobbly at the back against any physical presence, looking far too easily over-run in the middle and totally reliant on Suarez to get us the bulk of our goals.
I don't think Johnson performs any different on the left to what he does on the right, the thing that does change is expectation! Because he is playing on his unfavoured side, us fans expect him to have a tougher game and are more willing to give him the benefit of doubt.
what a great article. Thats the first thing i want to say. I really hope some people keep the sillyness to their threads and let this one talk about the core message. to Danilo for this one. So here is my response. if i were manager tomorrow: 1. Squad. In the very short term i would agree with your version of our strongest team. I would however have to ask myself genuinely if this is good enough for top 4. I would pick who i am going to build around long term as well. So: I'd want pepe reina as my captain and on a long contract. I'd also want to secure genuine competition for him though. I have been the first to say his mistakes and form but i also can see his abilities are crucial to me. I'd appoint any goalkeeping coach he wants to help him improve... unlike mr hodgson for example. I'd be thinking long and hard about that defence. I would honeslty be buying a CB in short order and i would be thinking hard about who to build round. Enrique and wisdom for me would be my full back choices. The rest for me are questions. If agger could be convinced to pull drag and shove I'd be happy to give him one slot in CB line up of 3/4. for me johnson has peaked and i think if i could get top dollar i'd move him but i'd also be happy for him to play 50% of gamees, he looks dog tired now. In midfield I'd be very harsh. I would honestly be looking at lucas and wondering about his recovery. He'd be given next year til January to show his old strength and form. I think he can recover but I'd be honest with him. I would push gerrard way up the field cos his display v reading where he was in no position to dictate play and his legs would force me to. Either he becomes a playmaker in front of a back 4 or he goes wide right to cross and pass and make a few runs. I would keep henderson and dispense with the rest frankly. I attack I would be happy enough to add one more real striker and build on the likes of coutinho and squarez. Retention of suarez has to be no 1 priority. So my squad would only have maybe 8 retained players for me to build round frnakly and my objective is top 4 and if the player coming in hasn't got the abiltiy then i don't want him. 2. transfers. carroll, allen, borini, shelvey, downing, skertl. I'd part with all to fund this. I would move heaven and earth to secure 3 players, Alonso (dream), erikkson (fantasy land) and a as yet unnamed CB. 3. Youth/rotation. Frankly i would rotate. Rafa might have rotated and got called tinker man but he was also harsh on a couple of players by not rotating. gerrard and torres never rested and got injured. then others no matter what got benched. For me others in the same period rotated and got results so were not singled out. You have got to deserve a chance but my policy would be a partnership approach with academy, first team and selected clubs like norwich etc. If ryan mclaughin, teixteria, pacheco or whomever eeds game i'll find them for them. I will not let suso sit playing flat track bully in u21s and not develop... he'll go somewhere to play and come back for us. I will release a player rather than loan him out for a shop window. loans are not for selling players. I will try to have a lsot on the bench of 7 for a kid, its hard to do with 19 senior players and 18 slots in a mastch day squad but i think its crucial a kid gets to at least a bench slot when deserving. 4. playing style. I like SOME of what we do, this is why erikkson, gerrard and alonso are key for me. I do not want to see midfielders 20 yards up the pitch while carra and agger piss about. cbs are not playmakers. this is half our issue, we need midfielders (2) dropping off and pulling players with them. we do NOT need suarez doing this cos he can't get a pass. I'll force one striker not a lase 9. suarez and countinho will be places to be able to operate with freedom. Again the others are crucial to allow this. If sturrdige can't stay up on the shoulde rof the last man and do it then I'll find another player quick. 5. Training. I agree about this but feel that the evidence is clearly there in our fading in games as it gets later and later. I want to see preseason split into two aspects. first and foremost its all about preparation so i want all preparation work done before tours start. the tour should just fine tune togetherness and tactics at most. eg there is no co-incidence that rodgers went to the US then off to other climes and the start of the season was disasterous as nobody on tour was in the first team! DO a whistle stop week for marketing. If that hurts game one of the season or some meaningless international friendly i don't care too much cos all the hard work is in the bag to rely on. LFC play catch up after stupid long tours that interfere with preparation. 6 STAFF! I want to see staff addressed, no manager should be allowed to arrive at lfc with more than one or two guys. we need to build and train coaches so my suggestion is carragher goes to the academy with u10s, works on badges, is sent across europe to every seminar, school or club he can get into. he should not coach in the firsts for 5 years. he should progress up the structure but never be "manager" of a team or level like reserves until he is ready. I would like to see someone like mike marsh who'd done this move to reserve manager in rotation so we get as broad an experience base as possible. Carragher by the time he's 40 should be ready to manage. Rodgers is younger not but never played like carra so has the time under his belt.
I think we need to build on what we have and also need strength in depth so I would there for want to keep exits to a minimum. But some players who just are not involved or showing potential must be cleared from the wage bill and used to help raise funds. The obvious names here are Coates and Assaidi. I will also add Wilson and Galucci. For the first 11 I think we need more steel, leadership and on the ball skill at the back, as well as a calmer and more patient nature. But always alert. In attack we need more pace, creativity, cutting edge and spark in attack, as well as more goals. We need more players scoring regularly with Suarez. Sturridge, Coutinho, Henderson and Gerrard have really helped here. I'd add another play maker as well as another proper striker. if the right striker can be recruited I would recruit them and say fair well to Carroll to make space and help fund it. If not, Carroll stays another year. I'll name three lineups and what each one is aimed at. Tight games against teams above and around us who are good and physical: -------------Reina------------- -Johnson-NCB--Agger--Enrique- -------------Lucas------------- ----Henderson---Gerrard-------- --NPM---------------Coutinho-- ------------Suarez------------- Lower teams, but who park the bus. These times like to try hit us with set pieces. -------------Reina------------- -Johnson-Skrtel--NCB--Enrique- --------Lucas---Gerrard------- -----NPM---Suarez----Coutinho- -----------Sturridge------------ Gerrard attacking from deep. Plenty of numbers in attack with creativity and lots of interchangeability.. Skrtel or Kelly. Open teams who we can near bottom who are shaky in defense. These teams often have a fast striker capable of goals on the counter attack. -------------Reina------------- -Johnson-NCB--Agger--Enrique- -----Henderson--Gerrard------- --Sterling----Suarez---Coutinho- ------------Sturridge------------ Width, pace, skill. Less muscle needed in midfield. Joe Allen could enter midfield.
At the end of the day, whether we use youngsters, establish or seasoned pros, the number one aim is to have as good a team as we possibly can. Just because a player is young and has potential should not mean they get the nod over someone else that is currently a better option. Because of this, I wouldn't count any youngsters as part of the main squad. I'd aim for two players per position with youngsters beyond that. If a youngsters is good enough, they will force their way beyond the others players, cream always rises and all that. Nothing to say that a young player we currently have and refer to as a youngster can't be one of our best two options for the squad but they shouldn't be used to make up the numbers either. Kelly, Wisdom and Sterling spring to mind. They are all young and have lots of potential but not one of them should be considered a first team player and it is debatable whether they are the second best in their position too. We don't want to lose these players because in a couple of years time they will be part of the main squad but we should not be sacrificing the current team for their progress. Competition for places should encourage youngsters to develop. Plus, it gives them players to learn from too, the problem is the likes of Downing, Allen, Borini, etc aren't the best roles models IMO.
I think Borini gets a too much stick, he's hardly kicked a ball for us and people are getting on his back.
I said Borini but contemplated deleting it. It is unfair since he's had injury problems but I have seen nothing to suggest he would offer us anything, especially considering BR saying his best attributes are his strength and power
BORINI DID TRY TO KCI A BALL BUT HE MISSED, THAT WAS THE PROBLEM MORE THAN ONCE!!! no seriously though.. I wonder who'd really say revolution and evolution cos we've a squad that is capable of 7th. I think the main thing i'd want is to make player work harder, a lot harder for every point. I just would not accept any loss no matter who it's to.
LFC need to employ a specialist defensive coach , to work with the back 4 and the sitter, especially on set pieces and balls in2 the box
1. Starting XI ----------------Reina---------------- -Johnson--Skrtel--Agger---Enrique---- --------------Lucas------------------ -------Henderson---Gerrard----------- -Sturridge----------------Coutinho---- --------------Suarez----------------- Subs: Jones, Wisdom, Kelly, Allen, Suso, Borini, Sterling Youth squads (can't get all the academy players but the more prominent ones) : Ward, Gulacsi, Belford, Sama, McLaughlin, Flanagan, Yesil ( Jury out due to injury but shown in youth international level he can do it), Ibe, Sinclair, Morgan, Peterson, Rossiter, Adorjan, Bijev, Dunn, Teixeira, Trickett-Smith, Roddan, Pelosi, Ngoo (loan out, seems to be playing very well), Mukendi. Some of these might start benefitting from loans to clubs like Hearts or championship squads. ( Italizied the ones I like) Transfer policy: OUT: Downing- think this has been covered enough Carroll- Never my cup of tea and just think we could still get about 10 for him and 10 mil can buy a striker, if you scout hard enough, of much much better ilk and to fit your style Shelvey- 5-6 million tops but we only paid I believe 2.5 for him so profit there. Shame about how he mentally just can't seem to do it. Coates - (Loan) still would like to see us loan Coates to someone in the prem. Maybe Southampton and Pochetino can really help him settle and see if he can cut it in the league. If not then we know what to do. Assaidi- again pretty easy but think it will be ( for me) a case of who in the dutch league can I get to offer Assaidi as part of the deal. IN: LB- For me, a massive problem. With Enrique hit and miss or injured, I think we need to have someone to push him and really challenge for the spot. Cissokho from Valencia or Alex Sandro from Porto for me. CB- With Carra retirement, I would still hold onto Skrtel and Agger. I would start to draft Kelly in at CB while Coates is on loan but would want an important signing here. Dede ticks all the boxes for me and I think we could get him at a fair price. CDM- Mulumbu ticks a lot of boxes for me. Prem proven, destroys play, can help build play up and would provide cover/competition for Lucas. ST/Winger- I think with Ibe, Morgan, Yesil, Sterling, Suso, etc looking to break through, I would go a little more experience here. Lisandro Lopez is that fox in the box who I think would link up really well with Suarez, and could really start to make our chances count more in the box. Youth policy: If we are going to loan them, then it has to be to a team that will play a similar style to what I would want. Those who show real promise will either get good looks in the first team or go out on loan to play a full seasons worth of footy to really improve their game. This would have to be judged on who can handle the first team right now, who might need a spot with less pressure but maybe more playing time, etc. Playing style - Love the possession, but in the final third as danilo stated. Nothing wrong with keeping the ball when we can't break a team down but the possession in the final third has to be sharper, better movement off the ball, and a willingness to get in the box to score. I would still have training sessions involving counter attack. We have some pace now up top with Sturridge, Serling, Ibe coming through but even still, we need to be better about when we break out with Coutinho, Gerrard, Mulumbu, etc leading the charge, our decision making has been horrendous here, wrong option, holding the ball too long, just stop and turning backwards. Couple this with some poor technique and attacks that look so promising just vaporize. I would like to be able to have a bit of both but certainly being better, more fluid, and clinical in the final third. Other notes: Not everyone, but start to bleed a few more youngsters in. I am talking Teixeira, Mclaughlin, Ibe now. This will give us even more academy players who have come through and broke into the first team. I would only use these three as I think they have been pretty much the stand out performers as of late. Again, not starting them but get them in for say 30 minutes and see how they cope. Give Carra a proper sending off. Scout team. Fire the ****ing lot and go and spend the extra quid and get some proper scouts who look all over the world and have a keen eye for talent and what we want. Do what it takes to bring back Hyypia or someone who is a defensive specialist to help sort that problem out. Marketing: As Danilo said, pretty much on our p's & q's here but I would say push harder on finding help for the stadium ( refurbished) already sart to line up the sponsors for that so that when the green light is given to obtain the private zones, work can be started immediately. Long term plan: To become a team that promotes from within, but is not afraid to go out and get what it needs. This should give a good balance of players who know what playing for Liverpool truly means and those who are of the top tier of players who will quickly learn what LFC means. Be able to have different styles to adapt to teams in the prem ( all the variations) and playing in Europe. Become a feared force again. As much as I would like to have options and plan B's, I want teams to fear us and how we play. Get back in the CL within 2 years. Win the FA Cup next year.
