I was just wondering, if you were a manager of a premiership club, with say players of Sunderland calibre what formation would you play? In fact what is your favourite formation, and how would you set it up. The reason why I'm asking is because each manager has a favourite set up and formation; for example Bruce and Mick McCarthy clearly supported the 4-5-1 approach. This is probably why they are out of the job - being so negative. You then have foreign managers playing a sort of 4-3-3, with attacking wingers supporting the one attacker - like Chelsea & Arsenal. Others like to play the 4-4-1-1 - like MON at the minute. It seems like the 4-4-2 formation is least favourite now..where as before it was the most desired. Now after playing endless hours on Football Manager, I like to set my team up in a 4-3-3 formation. See below: .............GK.......... RB.....CB......CB....LB ....CM.....CM....CM.... RW.....................LW ............ST.............. What I like to do is playing a passing game, and start from the back. I HATE the long ball and would never encourage it. When I play in goal, I always like to pass out to my defender rather than kick the ball upfield (it caused a lot of arguements). So as a manager, what is your formation and how would you set your team up to play? Its a little different I know, but I'm expecting a lot of different views...I look forward to your imput
I would get the sack early on and be detested by thousands, but, my pay off would mean I could shout up yours from my villa in Cyprus.
Agree with this. With 5 midfielders who are quick and can pass the ball you can rule ze world! Englander schweinhunds...
4-2-3-1. Solid defence, 2 good hard tackling break up midfielders, 2 wingers with pace + 1 x free role to support 1 frontman
2-4-4 if it didn't work, so **** i'd enjoy the thrills and spills anyway, get sacked and live off the pay off
