then read this load of old rubbish: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/10/17/boss-explains-what-saints-do-better-than-spu/ What does this load of old bollocks mean? "At the moment, Danny Rose, Ryan Mason, Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb look the most likely candidates to step-up from the youth-levels into the first team at White Hart Lane. The trio are all members of the Pochettino's senior squad now and they will be looking to establish their places in the team as the season progresses. If they are to do so, they will need to maintain a high standard as expectations at Spurs are greater than at Southampton."
I'm not offended as MP praises our system and says we are willing to give youth a chance. The difference between the two is that the expectations at Spurs is greater. I think that is right...the fans are more tolerant and patient here than at Spurs when it comes to youngsters...I don't think he means the expectations of the club are lower. We are aiming for Europe the same as they are, but Spurs fans want ready made expensive players.
By the time Jay is fit, the world will have moved on. He may want to go, he may not. Spurs may want him, they may not. Mauricio may be at Spurs, he may not.
Is it just me or does it seem journalism is the new job to do if you can't do anything else? I know a few sports journo's who are pretty good at their job and they must be cringing when they see stuff like that. As other have said, it's a sort of compliment to the saints academy but typical spuds arrogance in other respects. Standards are higher? How come the bought Bale then??
Don't confuse intolerance and patience Fran. We expect every bit as much as Spurs fans and management.
Haven't a clue. I just want people to adjust to Jay and Morgan very very likely leaving. I don't want the crazy meltdown like last time.
no meltdown but the guy can go to hell if he's bent on going there. enduring memory of him will be the uneasy interview in which he was presented the well wishes from saints fans for his recovery.
On the subject of poor articles, I stumbled across this today. http://whatculture.com/sport/10-worst-southampton-managers-modern-era.php/11 Thought it was pretty out of order to show Chris Nicholl, Nigel Pearson and glen Hoddle in the list of 10 worst managers in the modern era. Bizarrely there is no mention of Branfoot!!
given that they are implicitly blaming him for selling alan shearer I think they've got their wires crossed.
from what you've said, it looked like JWP would be the next meltdown apart from free kicks and england performances he's not impressed me though, so it depends how high his release clause is set, I suppose.
