Going to see how this goes. It's just a bit of fun to help the next 3 months pass ! So to start, if you lived in Devon who would you support out of the following teams, and why ? The options are Plymouth Argyle Exeter City Torquay United
Do live in Devon but born and brought up in Bristol and support Bristol City of course- Go to the occasional Exeter City game and know several of their fans. They nearly always seem to have a prem team supported first with Exeter 2nd, not as die hard as us-Lot of ex City players either at or recently at Exeter. Torquay now non league, again been a few times there. Got a mate that supports Argyle. Anyone that lives in Cornwall (no league teams there) seem to support Plymouth. Only go there when we were both in Championship. Yeovil is about the same distance as Plymouth for me. Not a great standard of football overall down here. Exeter are the main ones I follow. Did go to their play off final as well in 2007.
Plymouth if I lived an equal distance away as they have a bit of heritage and have the best ground. Not much in it as Exeter is a nice city and Torquay is by the sea
We always used to lose (heavily) at Home Park and I've always had good holidays and piss ups in Torquay so that gets my vote.
Have fond memories of a lads weekend in Torquay - that weekend also saw City win there 4-0 with a hat-trick by Leroy - so Torquay That day it was sunny in the town centre but foggy up at Plainmoor - actually could not see Leroy's second as it was too foggy!!
Plymouth as my old man is a lifelong Argyle fan and I have been to many a game with him at Home Park, including when they beat us 4-0 to clinch promotion, and Inthink the title in the mid 80's
Never really thought about anyone else, but going on why I first started supporting city it was because my family all do, it would be like Banksy says. Who ever they bred us into. So going on the basis of not really thinking about it I'm going on my favourite colour green so Plymouth
can I change that, just seen the teams run out at home park and those Plymouth cheerleaders.. ding dong.
