stop working? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-36835245 I enjoy my job but I'd certainly jack it in if I won that amount.
I don't think I'd retire, I'd have to find something to keep me busy and out from under the wife's feet.
Yeah I get that but he's 52 got his own plumbing business, surely you'd want to enjoy it a bit more. If he just put the money in his savings account he will earn more than his business turns over. There's getting out of sight of the missus but unblocking some one's loo or fixing their heating is not my idea of having a good time.
Why buy a ticket if you're not going to enjoy the result ? Since the lottery started I've always thought winners who go to work must have very sad lives and no imagination as to how to enjoy and use the precious thing that is time. On another note - a big win, and the winner is yet again a middle age couple. Is it coincidence, or do single people, out of work people, young newleyweds or pensioners not buy tickets ?
Exactly - the whole lottery thing is about the opportunity to change your life for the better - living the dream. No - I'll carry on selling u-bends and fixing showers Then again I don't even buy a ticket these days
The question was would I stop working. I wouldn't. I maybe would if I was in his job at his age. I dunno though, having nowt to do is the worst thing for me, I get restless and the wife starts asking me to do crap jobs around the house.
I suppose it's all about personal circumstances, I'm a bit closer to his age and would probably stop working but I'd start doing lots of other stuff to take the place of 'work'. Tell me about it - just about half way through my wife's list.
Surely winning the jackpot is the plan to change our lives. I'd be on permanent holiday and have my Double Maxim flown out to wherever I was. .
Currently I have to work the way that I'm told, because the client is paying the bills, so you do what they say even if it's stupid. If I had enough that I didn't financially need to work, I'd still work, but I'd do whatever interested me in the way that I wanted, then see if I could make any money from it. I actually suspect that I'd be more successful doing that, but it's the risk of giving up a steady income that stops me from going for it anyway.
Nice one, I've had some similar clients who just don't listen or are just so dumb they pay me to analyse stuff then don't take any notice of the output and carry on as usual.
I'd quit instantly, but I'd need something to occupy my time for sure. I'd probs open a bar or restaurant something like that.
I would certainly pack in my job but open a small local shop and work part time there and employ a few people. if for some reason it didn't work out I would just cut my loses and run but give my employees a generous pay off (if they deserved it)
Absofuckinglutely i would, i would see all the family alright and retire. i would let the Mrs reduce her working week to part time and golf when she was off
I would definitely stop working, but would keep myself busy with loads of things that I have always wanted to do but have never had the time or resources to do them.
