What players do you reckon will be on their way, because they are 'premiership players'?

I would expect Ruddy to be one, but who else?

Maybe Pilkington, Snodgrass, RVW if we manage to sign him in the first place, Bassong, Turner and maybe Rusty.

    Ruddy, Snodders and Bassong.

No-one else is consistently premier league class to be worth paying what we'd ask for.

I guess you could probably include RvW.

Out of interest, who are your highest paid players? I know that you have a (relatively) low wage bill in Prem terms but to fall through the trap door in the current climate could be a financial disaster for even the most savvy minded clubs

    Snap...

Pilks is a fair shout. I doubt many teams would be desperate to sign Rusty tbh

Rusty is quite versatile, can play on either wing and can do good job at CB if required. Also can chip in with goals if allowed past the halfway line.......<grr>

Silly question, we'll beat WBA and stay up! Won't we, no actually probably not, bug#er! According to Hughton none are good enough for the premier league so no one will leave!

Really would agree with Kempy above, maybe not Rusty but one of him or Whittaker might leave!
Then if CH was (Its hypothetical, afterall we may scrap over the line) still in charge then the whole squad might wanna jump ship, certainly any of the lot who he hasn't appeared to have given a chance in the team.

    Whats happened to us?

We are a shadow of the team that went up and stayed up last year. I've just been reflecting on the performances of the last 3 years and we have the same players but they have lost it.

I thought R.Martin was wanted by Villa? Do you think Holt would stay if you dropped down?

    Ruddy, Bassong, Snodders. Pilks maybe.

Lambo is a fan of Rusty so may be keen on taking him if we drop.

Something nagging away tells me that we'll never see Ricky the Wolf if we drop down .....

By the skin of your teeth you will survive, but not sure what your plan of action is going to be for next season, some of you might have a view for changing the manager, the other school of thought is that Hughton could have learned by the experience, and will make a better job next season. Would like Town to make a cheeky bid for Becchio, your present regime do not seem to rate him in the Premier league.

To be honest I don't think Holty suits the way we play these days. I think he would be let go, it's a shame but why would he want the thankless task of being a striker for us. Zero service, speculative balls in the box and no support when he gets the ball. Say what you like about Holt but he was awesome in the Championship and even our first season in the Prem.

Hughton is like a confidence sucker, he goes around around absorbing all the positive vibes and replaces it with grey lifeless crap, he is charming though the dull bastard.

    interesting debate.
i think most will stay, but 3 or 4 could stay in the prem as above
this shows that our squad is weak really, doesn't it? nobody wants many of reading or QPR players. if newcastle go, a lot of their players would stay. wigan would have more players staying you'd have thought as well

Is Becchio that good? We have seen NOTHING of him.

I think this could be the final curse of Hughton, he will have reduced the value of our players by sucking the life and form out of them.
I think the lists above reflect most poorly on a manager who has made many who had a good first season in the top flight seem ordinary and out of their depth with his stoneage football. I'm not saying the lot of them are world beaters but some were capable/potential lower end prem performers.
You could make the same sort of comments about just about every team in the lower half of the table with players who would not get snapped up if relegated.

Whether we stay up or go down I would presume that we would have 8-10 in and out. Which 8-10 depends on how we do.

I reckon CH only rates about a dozen of our current squad. I can only see Holty staying if we go down - I can see him heading to Glasgow as a makeweight for Hooper if we stay up.

As I have said on previous threads I do not think our squad is up to much by PL standards and I can only see Ruddy/Snodgrass and maybe Pilks going for a decent amount of cash. If our defenders could not keep us up with the defensive tactics of CH I don't see many bids from Premiership clubs coming in for them.

Pretty sure Hughton rates nowhere near 12 of our players. I'd say six or seven at best.

Maybe if we stay up and Hughton is sacked we should get in Mick McCarthy just to show the Binners their place. I'm sure he wouldn't be able to resist the lure of the Premier League!
