Just wondered today, Imagine if Leeds had never existed and I had the pick off any club in England, who would I pick?

I eventually came to the conclusion I would probably end up supporting West Ham. Good fans, good stadium, big (ish) club, enjoying a bit of success atm (but not enough to make me a glory supporter), good (ish) manager. If Leeds didn't exist I wouldn't mind a season ticket at Upton park as my 2nd choice. Of course this is if you HAD to pick a club other than Leeds.

What about you lot? We got any die-hards, who would go off football completely if the Mighty Whites didn't exist? Or do you love the beautiful game enough to carrying on with a different club?

Would have been Newcastle. Followed em a bit as a bairn and they are similar to us in so many ways.

Unfortunately it would have to have been Burnley, given that as a youngster my dad had to choose between the 2 nearest clubs, us and Burnley, to support and, thankfully, chose us.

Either Ipswich or Spurs. Ipswich because of family and Spurs because they play good football and have a good set of fans.

I would follow my home town Northampton but no more than I already do as a second team. I would find it hard to get into a team and say I supported them, I would probably change each season depending on the manager and the club. A few seasons ago I quite admired what Arsenal were doing, this season I have been impressed with Spurs and hoping they can sneak it. I can't get into the teams buying out and out success like Chelsea and Man City, even if I liked City then I can't stand Ballotelli, I never used to like any team that had Shearer in it either.

I'd feel nothing like the same passion for another club, but it would probably help me in any potential choice to move abroad if I couldn't support Leeds any more. That way I could enjoy the lifestyle and the footie in whichever country I moved to without fretting about our results from thousands of miles away.

If I stayed in England, I'd probably support a fellow Yorkshire club like Bradford or Hull (not one of the Sheffield lot, too tiresome for my liking with the whole 'Steel City rivalry' thing). Not sure they'd accept me too well, but it would feel more natural since I already want them to do well.

Also, if the majority of Leeds fans all flocked in one direction (and decided, say, to totally invade Guiseley FC and make them Leeds United in all but name, I'd be well up for that). 4,000 away fans in the sixth division. Yes please.

I think I'd be a very lost soul. I suspect I'd fall back on geography, and follow Harrogate Town, as it's just up the road from Wetherby. I suppose I might also consider a big day out at York.

What about if a brand new Leeds United was started at the bottom of the league and worked it's way up?

I don't think I could ever feel the same about a breakaway team though.

Im surprised you lot actually managed to come up with an answer to this question, must have been very difficult, as there are only 90 odd better clubs to choose from.

That's just if Leeds United had never existed, if we went bankrupt right now... I have no idea.

If Leeds United went bankrupt now, it'd be Newcastle or Huddersfield, probably Newcastle as Huddersfield's fans are ****.
