Take one player from Barca and Real Madrid...

Who would it be respectively? IF money wasn't a issue.

Messi and Ronaldo, either side of Shola. Win the quadruple every year.

Would have to be Messi and Ronaldo everytime. Especially as they also play in positions where we're at our weakest.

    Would anyone choose anyone else?

Probably Messi & Ronaldo but I would be tempted to take Andrés Iniesta & Sergio Ramos.

Messi and Ronaldo are the 2 obvious ones, so to make it a little different:

    Messi and Alonso/Iniesta and Ronaldo!

  8. Ronaldo. I think Messi is a better dribbler, but Ronaldo is better at almost everything else. Messi wouldn't be as good in the PL as he is in La Liga, where as Ronaldo equaled Shearer and Fowlers record for number of PL goals in a season at such a young age.

Ronaldo is better. Better finisher, better free kick taker, better deliveries, faster sprint speed, Messi is better at dribbling.

I agree that Messi is better, but I also agree with Tash <yikes> that Messi wouldn't be as good as Ronaldo in the Premier League.

Messi and Kaka, whatever happened to him? He's warming the bench after a 60mil transfer.

Messi has the better touch, better distribution, better vision, better team player and a better person (from what I can tell)...

Someone wrote a blog on the BBC website about who was the better player - they said they'd give it to Messi purely because Messi wants to see the ball go in the back of the net by any means necessary whilst Ronaldo only wants to see himself put it there!

Yeah. Kaka seems to be a bench-warmer nowadays because of Ozil's form in the AM position were Kaka is more effective at. He isn't good out wide, he's better in the centre but unless Ozil dips massively in form or gets injured, Kaka will have to wait. I can see him leaving this summer IMO. He looks a shawdow of the maestro he was at Milan. He's now injury-prone, form isn't really there and he just doesn't look the player we all know he is. Sad I know for such a talented and gifted individual.

Hope he returns to Milan, apparently they are after him back and I reckon they could spend half what they received to get him, and he could rediscover his form in Italy. One of the world's top players when in form.

  16. I'm sorry but he doesn't mate.

What pisses me off about Messi is he constantly tries to chip goal keepers and take the harder route.

Ronaldo has proven himself in the PL, Messi's record isn't really that superior than Ronaldo's in La Liga.

Ronaldo's crosses and through balls are more consistant than Messi's. The reason Messi scores much because he doesn't get closed down enough in that league, and skins loads of players.

I'm not saying Messi would be a failure in the PL, just not as good.

League stats would disagree with you there Tash - this season both have scored 27 in the league, Messi has 16 assists, Ronaldo has 8.

Last season Messi scored 34, Ronaldo 26, Messi 10 assists, Ronaldo 7.

I think Ronaldo is perfect from the Premiership with his pace, strength (and more importantly, size) but I could see Messi being similar to Tevez - strong, nippy and hard working.

Plus, we've seen Messi do it against the best in the country (Manure, Arsenal in the past couple of seasons) so I don't see why he couldn't make the switch!

Sorry Bartons Tash but you are talking through your hoop mate.

The same people that say Messi wouldn't survive the "physical" world of the EPL are the same people that said we would crumble in the face of the physicality of the fizzy pop league. They were wrong. The EPL is no more rough than la liga, Messi still gets kicked from pillar to post and still gets up and performs.
There is something about him that once he has the ball at his feet it is nigh on imposssible to get it off him. Even if he tries a flick pass and the defender gets a block in the ball will bounce back to him 90% of the time.

Id take Messi and Di Maria to give a bit more creativity down the right wing

  20. The number of assists doesn't mean that Messi has created more.

Barton only has 7 assists, but does that mean he's only created 7 goals this season? Assists means you were the second last player to touch the ball before it goes in.

Barton and Ronaldo have created far more goals than their assist tally shows.
