So we have a new striker, two if you include Lee's return from injury, and a new defender. If you could only bring in one more signing pre-season which position would it be. For me it would have to be a new keeper.

I don't know why you're so concerned with backup players when we don't even have a first choice right mid.

New centre back or right mid, if it had to be one.

We cannot just make one more signing.

We definitely need a keeper, at least one centre half and a right midfielder.

That is the very minimum and we also need some cover in central midfield although I wouldn't be surprisd to see Lambert playing much deeper this season.

Yeah but he probably won't. We only needed Bialkowski for one game last season. We need a right mid for 38 games next season, and I don't want it to be Puncheon or Guly (who I like, but I think is far better through the middle).

Hopefully we'll see a bit of Ward-Prowse as well. I'd be disappointed if the development of our youngsters is halted by too many signings.

First choice right midfield is Guly, isn't it?

He can't play there tho, much better as a CM or just behind the strikers.

Bring him inside and play Cork on the right? And then there's Steeeeeve! and Puncheon, so we have options.

Puncheon shouldn't even be in the squad let alone first choice.

Heurlho Gomes is looking for a club now that he's a bench sitter at White hart lane. Would you have him?

No, but only because of wages. I actually rate him as a keeper but surely he'd want loads?

We do have a first choice right midfielder, it's Guly. Whether you think he's good enough or not is another matter but to say we don't have a first choice right midfielder is exaggerating somewhat.

We don't know what role Puncheon will play this season either, it will be the first time he will be fully integrated with the team during pre-season and so on since his time roaming the wilderness and he has premier league experience (and he didn't disgrace himself), he may surprise us.

Also Lallana can play on the right in a pinch and we've also got De Ridder as backup so right midfield, although I agree needs quality adding, is hardly the priority.

For me a quality centre-back is absolutely vital. There's a good chance we'd be able to finish the season with only one keeper, although I wouldn't like to risk it! But we'll definitely struggle with only Fonte, Hooiveld and Seaborne available.

I'm not sure he'd even get a work permit now to be honest.

Er, didn't Guly play there when we had that awful run right at the start of the season?
