Around 120 Newcastle fans held a mock funeral for the St James' Park name ahead of Saturday's game against Wolves.

A coalition calling itself NUFCFANSUTD carried a black and white striped coffin from the Strawberry pub to the wall where the St James' Park name was taken down last week.

The club have changed the name to The Sports Direct Arena.

The protest organiser Steve Wraith was keen to emphasise the peaceful nature of the protest and after a minute's silence the group broke up to go to the game.

The club declined to comment on the protest.
