if we won promoation to the championship, which looks like a possibility now -which players do u think cp will try and go for?i would love darren ward and jonjo shelvey and perhaps ambrose to return any other decent sugestions?
Sorry Jonathan but not even going to think that far ahead, I'm not going to say "take every game as it comes" but ask this question after Christmas if we are in a top two position & will give it some thought. I suspect CP already has a shopping list of who he would want, but guess he would rather develop who he has on the books with one or two key purchases.
Think our scouts should be checking out the following non league players. Im sure they could do a job in the Championship, if we are fortunate enough to get there. They may even be good enough for the Premier League in a couple of years Pat O`Brien Clitheroe Rob O’Hara Merstham Moshood Olafunmishe Horsham YMCA Mark Osborn Hemel Hempstead T James Outram Spalding Utd Chris Ovington Buxton Lewis Pountney Stourport Swifts Lee Protheroe Ware Josh Quaynor Worcester C Darren Reay Whitley Bay Ben Richardson Woodley Sports Scott Rickards Barwell Adriano Rigoglioso Marine James Riley Cammell Laird Mark Robinson Boston Utd Guy Sanders Barwell Tom Sellers Woodley Sports Josh Skidmore Halesowen T Leon Skinner Broxbourne B Adrian Stone Tonbridge Angels Ollie Thorne Braintree T Chris Tyson Burscough Rob Ursell Wingate & Finchley Paul Walker Rossendale Utd Chris Watters Chesham Utd Alan White Blyth Spartans Joe White Yate T Brent Wood-Townend Lancaster C
You're optimistic, Rifleman. Talent like that will be snapped up by the really big clubs in the Champions League. We couldn't compete. Now if we were to sign 28 players from the same club, preferably from one in the Safety Net Associates Kent Football League Premier Division, then I think we might get a quantity discount. I don't think we want to look at players at a lower level than that. Too big a risk of them not immediately commanding a first team place in our Championship side. Mind you, a gifted scout like J Acworth could spot a budding Richard Rufus even as low as the the Ian Hart Funeral Service Worthing & District Football League Premier Division. I believe his method is to assess how they jump over those orange sticky pad things.
You might be right eddie, but we have to set our sights high and try and prise some of these players out of their clubs before the big clubs close in on them. We must steal a march on them. I think you will find that Jonathan agrees with me.
