Sell all the best players and use all the parachute payments to pay back what the club owe him, or not blink and make a serious effort to get back? Note: The question doesn't mean I expect City to go down.

Changing to Hull Tigers will make even less sense if we go down, won't it? On relegation Allam loses those lightly identified with the club, the very people he thinks might like the namechange. He's left with a core almost completely hostile to it.
He has made the same mistake as Duffen did, thinking a good start to the season and big bucks spent means a top half finish and European football on the horizon. This is another area where his lack of understanding of football is a hindrance to the club. If and when we drop into the bottom three, will he panic like Tan did?
Oh come on. Who are all these mega-valuable players he is going to sell? Long and Jelavic would be net loss sales. We wouldn't get what we paid for them, especially in a fire sale. Huddlestone arguably could turn a profit on a good day but who is going to pay 8/9/10 million for him? Realistically? Livermore isn't ours to sell. Nobody else is worth big bucks. Brady possibly a few mill. It's delusional to think that any chairman, even a crazy one, is going to sell his entire squad and pocket 100% of the parachute money. The fans would be off like the clappers, we'd have no income and no way of covering our running costs, wages, outstanding debts to other clubs and so on. In short, we'd be insolvent. Or to put it another way, Mr Allam would be in even deeper ****. Seriously, it ain't gonna happen in a million years. It's not even possible.
Davies, Huddlestone, McGregor would all turn sharp profits, Long and Jelavic - who wouldn't cost us 7m each as we would have been relegated, as well as goal scoring goals not being met presumably even less - would likely be break even or small losses. Brady and Aluko could also go for a profit considering we didn't pay a fee for Aluko.
This conversation is almost as insane as Mr Allam. As things stand, there is no way he can recoup the money he is owed, unless he sells the club to a stupidly rich Asian gangster or a Russian oligarch with bodies in the basement. Don't hold your breath.
Mr Allam has been smart enough unlike the previous owner to give players contracts that will pay less in the Championship. With £20 million perhaps from the sale of four or five key players maybe (I don't know) Mr Allam can at least cut his losses enormously getting what he's owed by taking from the parachute payments
Can anybody really predict what Mr Allam will do though ? Imagine getting relegated AND changing the name , that would be an absolute disaster
He'll never get his money back unless we stay in the Premier League, our outgoings even if we're relegated are still massive and he can't cover more than 20% of his debt with player sales. As Ren says, it's a non-starter.
If we have proper relegation clauses in the contracts and with the initial parachute payment and the retention of SB then I see no reason why we wouldn't win promotion back up at the first attempt. YO-YO a go go. The name change? Now that is a disaster.
You are wrong if you think Allam won't carry out his threat to walk away if Hull Tigers is not approved. Combining this with a relegation causes a fire sale of players and in the same way Investec loans to previous owners, were covered by parachute payments, the Allam Trust/lender will receive those payments. Even then there is likely to be a shortfall on what Allams are owed. Furthermore as Club do not own stadium lack of physical assets mean there may not be any cash flow for a viable Administration resulting in a Rangers style Liquidation. As the Allams own the SMC they will be able to influence any ultimate outcome including even moving Ferriby to KC. These risks should be on the minds and consciouses of everyone who decides opposing the Allams is a negligible risk.
So you mean Mr Allam will walk away on some kind of warped principle , put the team in administration and lose a fortune ? Sounds like a sensible plan
What a load of drivel, AA only owes money to himself, any attempt to admin/liquidate the club would only hurt him and ownership on the SMC has absolutely no bearing.
