It will be a fecking miracle!!

We still need a minimum of 2CB's a GK and a striker and the way i see it/read it, we are screwed as we don't appear to have much money available, nor do we seem to be able to attract. Jewell said that Derby's asking price of £1 mil for Davies was beyond us, that is alarming as he didn't say we were not willing to pay it he has basically said we ain't got the money!!

We have now lost to Luton and Southend and all the goals conceded were headers, sound familiar? I know some will say they were only friendlies which is true BUT its only 2 and a bit weeks until kick off and we are still a FECKING SHAMBLES!!

I'm just waiting for the same old fecking excuses to roll off of Jewells tongue!!

If i was Cressy i would run to villa now and i wouldn't blame him if he slapped in a transfer request, after all its gonna be a long drab season under Evans/Clegg and Jewell!!

On a brighter note, i have heard that Clegg has found the elusive brown tree snake!! C**T!!

Talking of biting, there seems to be a fair bit of winding up/bickering over on TWTD, Jewell seems to be splitting the camp just like Jim and Roy did.

This was one of the posts which i felt hit the nail on the head:-

Lets take this in context without all getting at one another, we've just lost 2 friendlies that we shouldn't have done and looking at that situation it's just not good enough, we should beat lesser sides as we're a better team, that's logic but it doesn't always happen that way.
What frustrates me (I was a pro PJer, now my support is dropping and I hope he can get me back again when the business starts) is that we have a manger who hasn't taken us forward in 18 months, a CEO who I still don't think is the right man for the job and an owner who isn't prepared to back us anymore yet he gets Cleggy to tell us that we are pushing for promotion. Well answer me this Mr Evans, with the players we have are we good enough to fight off relegation? What will you do if we do go down and that will ultimately be your fault? I hope that this doesn't happen but you have to admit, pre season is more of the same, more of what we had last season.
Some of you thought that by signing two players (both of which weren't PJ's first choice and not that much of an improvement on what we already have) that we would be successful, I hope your optimism is right and I'm wrong, but I doubt it. I will however admit I'm wrong if we have a good season.
Evans, back him or sack him, simple!

Jewell's contract is up at Christmas so depending on where we are in the League by then we will know if he is staying or going! I just wish that Evans would put the poor bastard out of his and our misery right now! <ok>

This is exactly what gets me, I almost feel sorry for Jewell because he's dealing with all these noises coming out of the club that we're aiming for the premier league and offering promises on season tickets for when we get promoted, but he simply isn't being backed at the same level as Magilton or Keane, and even more worryingly, our rivals in the Championship this year. If Evans isn't prepared to back the club and manager, come out and tell the fans that we're going to have to lower our expectations and with that has to come lower season ticket and match day ticket prices.

Although I was/ am still in the give Jewell time camp I do see why the negative/ worried posts come from but as Bleakers has said it seems he is facing an impossible task. Jim/ Roy had 20m to spend between them and I think Jewell has had less than £5m in 3 transfer windows. We all know our squad from the Keane disaster was expensive but ulitmately useless yet seem to think Jewell should be able to fix it with signings of £100k instead of £1m each. Our fans have now even taken issue over pre season results which 3 or 4 seasons back would have been unheard off.

The reason we are taking notice of the pre season results is because they are following the same depressing pattern as last season's! If new faces aren't brought in that can make a difference we are ****ed! It's as simple as that!

What really pisses me off is that we always seem to looking at strikers than tackling the root of the problem which is the defence, if we have a stronger and tighter defence that means the opposition needs to put more men forwards thus giving more room for our strikers to score.

    its hardly ****ing rocket science!

JWM, point taken and as I said on another post, given the strength of the team last night it is course for concern but no need for hysteria yet but you have hit the nail on the head with your last sentence - if new faces arent brought in we are ****ed - agree 100% but if the club wont give Jewell the cash then how can he sort it out. You (general not you personally) cant say Jewell should go if he cant build a strong team, when he hasnt been given funds to get players in. An option he may have is to sell Cresswell, which fans think would be worse than terrible and selling should also lead to Jewells sacking. If we sign freebies, loans and £100k players then your not going to get the best team available, unless you have either the best eye for a bargain in history or a lot of luck.

Yeah but Guru, Jewell and Clegg haven't had enough time to get the signings in! After all they have only had 10 weeks!

The sad thing is I think we need to be looking at both defence and attack, and most places in between aswell.
The squad has question marks over. You could argue that GK, RB, LB, CB, wide midfield and upfront all needs strengthening

your asking the wrong club here.
We saw a youngster that had a bit of pace and strength and a very raw talent to his game but as he was part of our youth set up & 99% of them never make a first team appearance then it wasnt really a gamble for us.
It was your club that decided to spend a basic £8.1m on somebody who had done very little in the first team. So the big question is What do you see in him.
    NEXT!
