If we don't beat Norwich or Sunderland, surely it's McClaren out?

If we reach 10 PL games and haven't won a PL game, then we can't afford to hope things get better.

    I'd sign Fat Sam ASAP.

The Derby could very well decide McClaren.

I think he has to be sacked this is the worst start of the season ever and he has had the luxury of 5 new signings.

Fat Sam wouldnt come, not to work for Mike Ashley. Not gonna happen. But there's a dozen managers who could do better than McClaren. I mean come on. Wijnaldum is a class player. He's got pedigree. De Jong used to be good but hasn't played for a year, so I don't blame him. Everyone seems completely disinterested.

Truth be told in 10 games or so McClaren has shown nothing but ineptitude and looking hopelessly out of his depth.

If you include our preseason shambles aswell. He is fast becoming the worst manager we have ever had. I mean at least carver showed some ducking guts. Mclarens just smiles and sends emails. It is a ****ing joke.

And if any one of you really thinks mclaren needs more time then I am afraid you are not a football fan. Anyone who thinks it will come good is more deluded than I thought someone could be. I can't wait for more ****e excuses like this is a wake up call. Steve you forget we woke up 5 years ago when fat man took over.

    I'm patient.
We are **** but Rome wasn't built in a day.
We can't go down the route of sacking managers ever 5 minutes like some clubs do.
    Completely the wrong approach.

Ha ha ha ha ha you are clearly a plonker. No offence meant but look at the quality. This is no ****ing working progress you hit the ground running or fail and we are failing so bad it's not funny.

I understand, but if didn't win a pre-season game, and haven't won a PL game in 10, we can't hope things get better.

Also, if we were trying our hearts out and there was a semblance of a style that was taking time to develop, then I'd also agree, but there's no signs of any sort of plan coming into fruition.

The vibe coming from the club is just as bad, and the players look disinterested.

You'd think so, but I just can't see him being sacked until it's too late.

Unlike Pardew, I have nothing against McClaren - he seems a nice chap - but you knew this would end in disaster. Is it all his fault? Of course not. We didn't bring enough players in in the summer, we all knew this. We spent some money, but it was the bare minimum - what's more, we didn't spend it wisely. Ashley knew he had to do this to get the fans onside, get season ticket sales. But was he telling the truth about the cups? Was he ****. "I'm not going anywhere until we win sumfink". On the evidence of that he'll still be here when I'm personally manning the Devil's own ****stations in hell.

That being said, McClaren was a poor appointment. Let's see:

    - He's failed elsewhere, including very high-profile failures, one very recent, ensuring his confidence was low
    - Very uninspiring
    - Is something of a dinosaur
    - Given how last season ended, he was basically coming to Ashley with his cap in his hand, begging for the job. This meant he had no leverage whatsoever.

Perhaps most significant - and certainly tied into that last point - is that Ashley had no intention of appointing any else but McClaren after Pardew went (Carver was a stopgap, to steady the ship until he could get McClaren for free or peanuts - it almost backfired spectacularly). This is because he or those in his circle knew McClaren, and knew he was a yes man who would toe the company line. This is key to any Ashley managerial appointment, and limits the pool tremendously. Until that changes, along with his policies on player recruitment, we won't progress.

i have no hope at all. We will lose the next two games convingly. We will then be 8 games in with 2 points. We are the whipping boys of the league. We have no class and our new signings are just woefully short it's incredible.

Some of our fan base seem only happy when there is somethng to really moan about. There were some lads TWO premiership games in wanting SM out on Twitter. Astounding. Completely Astounding.
Ashley aint gonna sack a manager every half dozen games (as proved by AP) so we either get used to that fact and back our team or turn on the players and management.
Only one of those paths will guarantee relegation.
If we get to 12 games and we are **** I'll start to worry but still then will not be getting the bedsheets out.
SM doesn't WANT us to lose for crying out loud. I think he's inherited a few cowards and this coupled with a small squad of poor quality is ****ing us up right now.

It's fcked. McLaren going will just see someone else in Ashley's pathetically tiny circle of trust appointed. Carr's a problem, Charnley's a huge problem, Moncur's pointless and McLaren's just a decent coach. All four are in the wrong job for a Premier League club, they're all either not good enough, too limited or too outdated.

The only solution is for Ashley to sack everyone. It's not even a joke. We need an effective MD to work out the problems (a la Cortese), a genuine DoF to push Carr back to his day job and to offer better structure and guidance to prospective players, and a progressive, respected head coach not afraid to make big decisions on his squad. In short, there's NO solution. Ashley is a disaster, and always has been a stagnant, petty, disinterested billionaire. He cares for SD advertising and nought else. We're broken, completely, and dying. Whether the fans outlast this era and the club keeps breathing remains to be seen.

Deserves time is a bit strong like. Based on what? Performance thus far? <laugh> how about reputation? <laugh><laugh>

Mclaren was a horrible choice to come into this situation, although I totally get the idea of it. He's not a totally inept prat, but he is categorically not the man-manager or firefighter we needed. Jesus look at his England career or Derby slump to prove that!

We needed a Bruce or Pulis in my personal opinion. Not because they are more talented, but because their talents and experience are more relevant to NUFC thesedays.

The biggest thing for me tonight - Lee Charnley had his head in his hands for about 5 minutes tonight towards the end of the. He and his mate Graham Carr are responsible. They spent the money and appointed McClaren. I think Charnley will be out on his ear pretty soon.

Obviously you can't just plough on regardless. If you are cut adrift at Xmas it's game over. However anything else and you have to give him a few years - we have made our bed we best lie in the ****

I would have him out this morning personally. Dont care call me fickle what ever, the staff have changed, yet we are up to our necks in injuries, its a complete mess. they havent sorted out or organised anything, formations a mess, players look more depressed than a group of emo's. English managers arent really working when we have predomniately a foreign team.

Pay the compo and get Frank De Boar in
