I had two idiots sat in our seats when we got there today. Then they decided to take the empty seats behind us and spew out utter rubbish for the full 90 minutes. After just 5 minutes i heard one of em say "This isn't premier league football, glad i haven't paid to be here." I hate them so much, these entitled fans who turn up at the death in their replica shirts looking for some glory.
I know it wasn't a great game tonight but I cannot believe the reactions from some people in the east stand tonight! Constant moaning about every player no positives at all! And then to boo the players at the end, what's that going to do for the confidence of the lads?! Can't wait to get to the Barnsley game now and fingers crossed celebrate becoming a PL Team again!
Those who booed, are dickheads. Yes it was a dire performance, yes we should have beaten a clearly poor relegated side, but City are notoriously bad against the bottom 3. Never mind playing them already relegated and playing with freedom. We lacked that killer edge. That ability to cut a defence open. Koren and Aluko being injured was a massive miss for us, as that ability to win the game was lost but we're still 7 points clear with 2 to go. We're all Blackburn fans at the moment aren't we? Elmo looks tired/injured/disinterested at the moment. Maybe disinterested is a little too far, but he hasn't been the Elmohamady that we know in the last 4/5 games. Fryatt looked hungry but ran out of steam, Boyd was disappointing tonight, FAYE WAS BRILLIANT, Quinniesta was awesome, Gedo looked okay, but I've have started Boyd and Fryatt with Fathi in midfield today. We really, really lacked a midfield and with Brizzle coming and defending with two banks of 5, it was always going to be hard. Yes the party is slightly stalled, but we're still Promoted really. Aren't we? Premier League next Season and some smart recruitment needed in order to score goals and break poor teams down.
I was in E7 and I didn't hear any booing. I thought the crowd got behind the team for most of the game but it is just human nature to have a collective sigh or shout out in frustration when yet another pass goes astray. I was a nervous wreck and so were the team in my opinion. I just think everyone is so frustrated knowing that Watford go into tomorrows game thinking they have a chance of catching us now. Maybe away from home City won't feel the pressure as much but you can't blame people for fearing the worst. How can anyone be sure Watford will not win the next couple of games, after all didn't most of us think we would win on Tuesday or tonight.
When Burnsy said there was no support or atmosphere from the fans, I thought that was totally wrong. The fans were behind the team, especially for 20/30 mins of the first half! How can fans create atmosphere when the team give them no encouragement? A flat performance will create a flat atmosphere. I think we had 4/5 shots on their goal to their 1. Very boring game. People came expecting a party and got disappointment BUT we're still pretty much Promoted so come on Venky Army! Do us a favour.
The last game I went to I had this woman behind me who would just not shut up with her criticisms of the players all match, every 5 seconds she would be moaning, I really had to bite my teeth and not turn around and ask her how long it had been since she had got any. I understand it can be frustrating, we all want to see a winning team but moaning and booing just isn't going to help achieve the objective. ps From watching today's game on TV, I thought the atmosphere was excellent for the first 20 minutes.
