I'd take Ledley King any day of the week. Probably wouldn't step down but is possibly the best English CB when fit.
None and I hope we keep a sensible wage structure if it all comes off. Yes I want us to be one of the best paid in the division to attract quality but not any £20k a week players here for the ride. We took the piss out of Leicester I hope we don't (and I doubt for a minute Warnock would) make the same mistake.
Joe Cole from Scousepool via Lille, cracking wee player with a bite about him. Sone Aluko from Rangers, simply wonderful player Richard Dunne from Villa, experienced centre back who can teach others and still play to a high level. Aiden McGeady from Moscow, would be a bit special in the Championship and beyond.

I think people are crazy to say none of them. Pretty much everyone of those players would improve our team considerably> Remember it said if wages weren't an issue which regardless of how much money a club has it always is but I would take Gordon (good competition in GK) Ledley King (wonderful centre back when fit) Hargreaves (need some experience in the team) Danny Guthrie (I have actually been quite impressed with his performances this season, surprised they are getting rid of him)

Because they are not the future of the club and how many have strong experience in this division? How much would Hargreaves want and compare that to Clayton and his demands and tell me Hargreaves would be better over a season that Clayton in this division and considering injuries.
"If wages were no issue" is what the OP wrote Hargreaves would be better over a season than Clayton When was the last time Hargreaves got injured? it was a year or so ago now and hes been training since and even played a few times for the PL champions. He's only 31 so much younger than Brown (who is actually who I'd compare him with in our team) and has good bite and leadership qualities, you can say you don't think he'd be good in this division but If I were a manager of a team like Swansea I'd bring him in and there in the PL. I can understand that he'd be a slight risk but not as big a one as some players and you can't question Guthrie surely? He's 25 and a decent player
I know he said if wages were no issue but I still wouldn't want a squad of has been's here for the ride and the big pay day. I would prefer a team of players likely to get us promoted, improve and form a nucleus to take forward into the premiership. I would prefer to see us signing the likes of Bamba, Rhodes and Nugent - Yes the op said Bosman players but if wages were no object then that would also mean we can offer large fee's, hence why I would prefer to sign none of them. One player who is out of contract that I would take is the left back Shorey.
