I think the DoF is the big question.

Apparently, there will still be a Sporting Director as FSG are fully committed to fragmenting Commolli's role. However, the original plan was for the Director will have more control and will work OVER/ABOVE the manager but Rodgers has compromised and he, as the manager will have the final say.

Also, there are new reports suggesting that we will be redeveloping Anfield so a cheeky question with regards to the stadium would be nice!

I would also like FSG to set the record straight by explaining that we never went running to media about our targets and that we had a clear sensible process all along.

I hope its made clear to the media, that Liverpool have kept there council during the last few weeks. No fuss, no drama..They've kept quiet and gone about there business in a calm professional manner.

Why make anyone aware of transfer targets or budget? All that does is drive up fee's and draws attention to potential targets.

Yes news on the latest stadium developments would be good, but even better would be Ian Ayre telling Whelan to shut the f^7k up.

I would also like to hear some sort of real statement that even the press can't twist.

    a) stadium announcement.

    b) Dof names and sitting there would be hilarious

    c) saying whelan is a mouth piece and martinez didn't get any offer would be funny even if veiled in a general "no nobody else was offered the job", "no no other eople have a clue about our approach" "no martinez didn't want to be assistant janiotr" that kind of thing.

I think FSG have a good chance to talk to us direct without press manipulation and should take it

FSG's statement says there will be a sporting director, it is on the clubs website.

Txiki Begiristain or Van Gaal i reckon.

I think Van Gaal is out of the running as he wants more control.

I think Txiki would be a great shout but I have a feeling Pep Segura will be promoted.

But Ian Ayre has just said there will not be a director of football, but a group of people working with Rogers.

    Confused.

Maybe not a difference in name, but Director of Football sounds much more like an 'overlord' type role, a draconian position - suited to someone like Van Gaal.

After today's conference about a team of people working with Rodgers, I wouldn't surprised to see what Ayre talked about last week: where the job is split multiple ways. This gives no one outright power to make decisions, but provides 3 (for example) people on an even footing each with their own specialism to work with Rodgers on making decisions. Someone to work on scouting with him, someone who'll be developing the youth and helping them transition whilst reporting feedback to Rodgers, someone maybe as a technical director to help with first team matters and footballing philosophy. Who knows for sure until people are announced, but I'm happy from what I've heard today.

Could Rafa take one of these roles? I know he was power hungry as manager but he could alter the way he works given a different remit surely? Stranger things have happened...

more questions than answers i suppose. not very clear on what a sporting director is cos it aint like we play other sports to manage as well... lol

    not clear on clarke either...

it will all become clear once the appoint guys.

I was a bit dissappointed really... not in rodgers but in the conference set up. The new crest and all such was not changed and it looked like they didn't prepar ein any special way.

The most interesting thing was rodgers taking over on ayre about DoF.
