Struggling to see where everyone will play

    Green

    Onouha
    Ferdinand
    Nelsen
    Fabio

    Park
    Diakite
    Sung

    Tarbs

    Cisse
    Zamora

    playing 4 - 3 - 1 - 2

but so many not making the first x1 , faurlin , mackie , johnson , hill , traore.

We will have a serious squad next year at this rate.

Yeah but we need a squad as look at last year when we got suspensions and injuries we just did not have the players who was good enough to come in and replace them. And another point is its good to have a squad fighting for their place in the team it will keep everyone on their toes, Knowing they will have to perform or there is people waiting to take their place

Yea, looking stronger by the week.

Think Nelsen was bought as cover for our CBs and think Johnson will offer good cover for Cisse.

If you look at the sh**e players we released this summer, what MH has done is basically replace them with better more experienced players. Too many of our players were simply not mobile/versatile enough to give MH the chance to change formations before/during matches last year. With the squad we are creating now, it will give MH options both on the pitch and as importantly, on the bench.

Big squad to cope with our awful disciplinary record, injuries and the Cup of National Africans etc. Can't be anything but a good thing. Also increases the chances of binning Barton as soon as is reasonably practicable.

I think we will still play a 442, taarabt has really come on with his defensive duties and I dont think we can afford a free role. taarabt has to play the wing imo.

We may play 451 away from home against the big teams too.

Think MH will swap tarbs for faurlin and push Sung up if we get them both

Thank god. A team we can put together without having Jamie Mackie as a right midfielder because he works hard. We will have an actual midfielder who works hard out wide in Park Ji Sung if he signs.

But in all honesty it is fantastic to see that our squad will be strong for next season. Recruiting players as high profile as Park will be fantastic for the club, as I'm sure there would be many CL clubs after him

Way 2 early to start calling Systems and positions, I promised myself I wouldn't but I'm just too damn excited to stop myself....

MH normally 4-4-2 and shown he likes 4-5-1, I like

    ---------------Green---------------

    Onouha -- Ferdinand - Hill -- Fabio\Taore

    ----------- Diakite - Faurlin ------------

    Park ------------Sung----------Adel

    ----------------Cisse--------------

Ok Faurlin needs to be back and fit but creativity\attacking and players that will dig deep and defend.....<party>

Swap Sung to the left and move Adel into the middle and that looks pretty damn good mate.

Cisse wont be a lone man up front, that will be Zamora or HH.

The only way Cisse or AJ play is in a 442 imo.

If three of your midfielders are fast and comfortable on the ball, one is hugely imaginative and the last is a dependable distributor of the ball, you don't need a big man to hold the ball up as you won't be playing the long ball and midfielders are breaking forward quickly. In fact you would be playing like Spain, Barcalona or even Swansea, and everyone on here would be happy.

but thats not the way Hughes plays. How many games did he play this season without a target man?

I would not be happy playing like Swansea, in fact id give up my season ticket if it took us 15 mins to cross the halfway line. Same goes for Spain with no one up front. Barca would be ok though.

We weren't discussing what Hughes would do!
I agree that he'll probably play 4-4-2 at home and 4-5-1 away.
It is hard to see both Koreans in the midfield in a 4-4-2.
