will it be seen as further proof that the establishment are out to destroy them, will we see McCoist issue a Braveheart speech to name and shame those responsible?

I'm sure that for any normal SPL club this is what would happen - if a club within the SPL owes other clubs money they should get it from the pot.

Scottish football stinks , Rangers are allowed to sign players without paying for them .Rangers are allowed to register players with 2 contracts.Rangers are allowed to pay high wages without paying bills .All these things allow Rangers to compete with us on a level playing field .Now the debt is to big, they pay pennies in the pound but still allowed to compete at the highest level . Rangers have broken every rule and going to get away with it , but the spl are going to change the rules now !! So nobody else can do it ,what Rangers have just done . That is why Scottish football is corrupt .

They shouldn't get one single penny from the pot for their exploits this season.

Agreed Scottish Football has always stunk. Agreed RFC allowed to sign players without paying for them and then sell them on without reimbursing the original vendor, who also need the cash. Agreed RFC allowed to pay high wages without paying the bills.

Pennies in the pound.................I dont agree that they will get a CVA........HMRC have a policy of liquidation where tax evasion is concerned and they must make an example of rfc as AT said.

I am more and more of a mind that the obstacles for a NEWCO to overcome are just too great. I can imagine two or three failed attempts, then the realisation among their support and the media that the game is up entirely. Whyte will not give them his shares. They can never play at Ibrox. They could not afford to play anywhere else, as HMRC will demand a tax bond equivalent to the last year of operation taxes due. Ellis is involved so that points to the redevelopment of Ibrox and the Albion a la HIGHBURY STADIUM DEVELOPMENT, flatted accomodation selling at £500K for a two b/r flat. Ticketus can be paid off by CW under this scheme and he, Ellis and they can all walk away quids in. Executive flats along the CLydeside with a prestigious tag will sell for a fortune.

I believe that 10 years from now, Celtic will be playing outwith Scotland and Rangers will be a club that used to compete with the Scottish Giants many many years ago.

YOUR GRANDCHILDEN MAY WELL ASK YOU .................GRANDA 'WHO WERE RANGERS?'.

I make the point now because I have heard several Rangers fans mention the possibility already, just like they mentioned the possibility of sanctions for a new-co in the SPL - before then going off their rocker when quite light sanctions were suggested for new-co's by the SPL board.

I agree with what you say , but this Scotland and Rangers have cheated their way through it for over 130 years . Someway they will come out of this smelling of roses!!!

I've been saying it for a while. It has been mooted for a while as well. 2nd place is quite lucrative and they cheated to get it. Third place is a comparative pittance.

Disagree. There is a huge difference between the media and the SFA and SPL wanting rangers to come out smelling of roses, but you overlook two far bigger and more powerfull organisations.
1/. HMRC will not permit a CVA. They cannot. It would set a precedent and English law is all based on precendent. They view football as one entity and they want to send a message to the 8 big clubs in the EPL who did the same thing with EBTs and as AT said..................he spoke to someone high in the HMRC who said they will make an example of rfc. They refused a CVA with Leeds Unt but were less than 25% of debt by value.
2/. UEFA will do to the SFA what they did with the Swiss FA over Sion, Young Boys, Zurich and Servette, all of whom were not granted a licence to play in the Super League. This could destroy Swiss club football or at least reduce it to a very low level. Uefa want to like HMRC take on the lesser boys to make an example, flex their muscles and warn the bigger leagues what power they have.
Fernebache made the same plea as rfc. Their owner did all the bad things not the fans or the players.....................response by Uefa...............they are one and indivisible...............owner, board and club are all one and the same entity.

IT WILL NOT HAVE ESCAPED SKYS ATTENTION, AS THEY DID THE ARTICLE ON SKY SPORTS NEWS, THAT THE THAI CELTS OFFER A GLOBAL VIEWING AUDIENCE FOR CELTIC, NOT TO MENTION NORTH AMERICA.

I believe that our Grandchildren will ask..................WHO, WHO, WHO WERE RANGERS???????????
There are bigger forces at work here than the MSM, SPL and SFA.

I suspect we may all have just witnessed the LAST OLD FIRM GAME and in years to come Celtic will have bigger fish to fry.
Their aspirations to match Celtics Lisbon Lions may well have killed them, because they have been raised with a SUPERIORITY COMPLEX,WHICH HAS WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME KILLED THEM. DEATH BY A THOUSAND ENVIES.

I phrased that clumsily. Yes Leeds got a CVA, but HMRC refused to agree, but because HMRC were less than 25% by value, LU got their CVA, but with strings attached. If LU qualified for the PL in the next 5 years then ALL debts were to be settled in FULL.

Hope I phrased that ok. The point I was making is that if it had been up to HMRC then LU would ceased to have existed. HMRC only had 24.8% of the debt by value and so LU managed to negotiate a CVA. HMRC are far more than 25% of RFC debt and if they follow their written policy, which they wanted to do in the case of LU, then RFC will not be allowed a CVA and then..................THE GEMS A BOGEY.

You are preaching to the choir with me.

This has been coming a long way off. This CVA talk is a nonsense.

The only thing we differ on is that I think that whoever starts a new club is going to try and play at Ibrox and rent it from Shooter. that will help Shooter pay off Ticketus and line his own pockets at the same time. That is just how I see it going. I did think that Whyte was going to start the new club himself but that can't happen now with his great big '**** you' over the £200k and lifetime ban.

... and of course by then everyone will have forgotten about their existence - they won't even be found on the internet as a search will produce something like the following: http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Rangers_of_the_North <whistle>

Out of interest, how many "Thai Celts" are there? There must be a lot if they alone can offer Sky a "global audience".

It's an outrage. The SPL should be giving us more money in our present situation, not taking money away from us when we can ill afford it. They're taking a very short-sighted view.
