Then the opinion of the fans in a poll, although interesting is somewhat redundant and irrelevant at this stage.
AA obviously knew of this when he said in the interview that he will take notice of the fans and not the FA. He will expect a yes vote from his passholders and seek to see that as a vote of confidence and go back to the FA armed with that. I think the vote will be close but I don't think he will get a majority yes vote. The OSC postal vote which went 60/40 against the name change will probably be how the season ticket holders will vote. This has to be handled delicately because we don't want any showboating by the 'No campaigners' and we don't want the Allam's to see it as a vote of no confidence. If anything it is a vote on the strength of feeling ordinary people have for this football club. We must all work together now to... 1. Guarantee we are still a Premiership club next season. 2. Get to the FA Cup Final 3. Work with the Allams to increase the revenue of the club.
They would have to go back with "evidence" that a name change would bring in substantially more money than a non change. The counter to that would be to try harder, sponsors are definitely out there, and also that Ehab stated on Saturday that he expected the benefits to be over several years and not a short term increase. As we don't even know which division we will be in next season it's just about impossible to predict potential benefits of this type.
The club was supposed to consult with all stakeholders under PL requirements. As far as I'm aware there was no proper consultation with any stakeholders and they would need to address that at the very least if they are to present a further dossier including revised/made up figures to the FA. Ehab has tried to deflect attention away from their own unwillingness to consult by saying the FA changed the rules but they haven't.The Allams have had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this point when it should have been one of the first things done by them.
Well the F.A. would look completely stupid if having rejected the bid they then changed their minds because the fans agreed with the doc. In my opinion if there is to be a poll then as olm says it would be a loaded question. Anyway, looking forward to watching Hull City A.F.C.this season and many more, irrespective of which division we are in. Many thanks to CTWD!
I think its quite simple, if the FA have agreed to it they would have opened the flood gates and within three years every club would be going for ridiculous American style names. Even the clowns at the FA aren't that stupid.
