Who do we think would've won. I think Alonso would've nailed Vettel within the next couple of laps, and it'd have been interesting to have seen if Button could've followed through quickly to prevent the Spaniard galloping off into the distance

Based on Johnathan Neale's comments about Vettel going 2 sec slower in a couple more laps, I think Vettel would've been 3rd.

    1. Alonso
    2. Button
    3. Vettel

It would have been even more interesting if Button had got past Vettel quickly as well , which would prevent Alonso pulling a gap. Then Alonso vs Button on the lead would've made this race one of the classics.

I agree with your order (ferrari fan as well as you) and most people will say it's because of our allegiance, but I reckon, with tyres 20 laps or so younger, Alonso would've had a better job holding off Button than Vettel would've. It was a great race, feeling slightly robbed of our first victory of the season, but Alonso has shown he won't just roll over and die if the car isn't great. Canada he'll be great as well, hopefully get another podium, or even a victory there

Ifs and buts... What was red bulls plan for vettel if he was still in front of jenson, the pitstop was screwed so they change the strategy and it barely worked.

Very true. Now is not the time for ifs and buts anymore, bring on Canada and we'll see the prancing horse on song again

    1. Button
    2. Vettel
    3. Alonso

Alonso's tyres were looking ragged when the SC came out, getting ground away sitting in Vettels dirty air, if Vettels had gone, Alonso's would probably preceeded it.

Want to agree with Miggins, but I have to go with Forza Ferrari's order for random92's reasons.

Button probably has more right to be feeling "why me?" than anyone else so far this season in my view, Hamilton included. He tries to steal a pit stop every grand prix, and does a better job at managing tyres than just about everyone else, but just not quite enough to make the strategy pay off. He goes for a conservative approach on tyres, allowing him to go flat out, easily has the pace to win, but circumstances which have nothing to do with him counted against him at key moments.

Obviously luck is all part of the sport. If Ross Brawn hadn't turned that team around in 2007-2009, Button would probably only have one race win to his name, and would at best be in a Force India or Sauber right now. Nonetheless, he has been very unlucky this year.
