in Man City's situation, would you'd have been able to handle it? Would the euphoria be worth all of that stress? Basically would you prefer a comfortable win to secure the league title or last minute drama to settle it like we saw today/yesterday. Personally I would prefer the latter as that is what makes football a truly great sport. How about the rest of you?

We had a thread a few months back where the question was asked how we wanted Saints to finish the season. Several wanted promotion to be all wrapped up with a few games to go and to enjoy a two team race to the No.1 spot. Several wanted the No.1 spot to be wrapped up with a few games to go and for the rest to be a canter. Remarkably, some wanted everything, including promotion to be hinged on the last day's result. Well, the last option is exactly what we got. It was fantastic entertainment, and that option was typified in the events of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium. Yes, it's great for the neutral, but bloody hell, I'd hate it to be my team doing it that way. Luckily, although Saints had to wait for the last day, they cleared up 90% of any lingering doubt after 20 minutes [2-0] and so the rest of the day was just enjoyable. To this fan, whose team is involved, that's a better scenario.

If I was a man City fan the very lovely Mrs Godders would have been visiting me in the Coronary Care Ward at the General yesterday evening!

The tension was unbelievable through the second half of City's match.

Last minute goals/winners are the elations to be treasured. Millwall away was probably the closest we had to yesterday's game last season and I didn't leave a ground buzzing so much.

It's why I always stay to the end :)

This forum would have been hilarious yesterday afternoon.

1,000 threads screaming and crying like little girls about how we've ****ed it up, all before the game has even finished.

I'm right, and you know it.:1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

Absolutely. You are 100% correct. We know who the culprits would be and there would also be the usual others trying to get them to find some perspective and patience that it still wasn't all over. Then the screaming and crying ones would go ballistic when the two goals rattled in and would be praising the Lads to the skies.

And, after all the celebrations had died down, the usual others would remember what the screamers and cryers had said before they went ballistic. ;)

I do sometimes wonder if there isn't enough anguish and elation in real life, without throwing football into the mix. Then I remember what Bill Shankly had to say on the matter, and I realise life would be empty without it.

I hate stress, but im still buzzing over the man city game and im not even that bothered about it all, i was supporting them but nothing like saints. But yea winning it in fashion like that would feel better, its that change in emotion. When its safe you go from edgy to happy, but a last minute win, thats from depression to euphoria, guarantee would feel better! But hay i will never complain about comfortable
