    Who could Liverpool bring in?

Let's be realistic, every good manager is already in a job, what are we gonna do, bring back Kenny until we find a replacement? Doubt he would want the job again.

Simeone - at Atletico and wouldn't leave till the summer and would need to pay the club handsomely

Klopp - doing terrible with Dortmund atm. Still wouldn't leave unless sacked.

Rafa - would be a step backwards.

Every other manager being spoken about - wouldn't leave till the summer.

If Rodgers was to go now there is no one else available to take over and do a better job, he is the best option for us right now.

i think rafa would be the only one who would consider it, the others no chance.

i dont think rafa is what the clubs or some/ a lot of our fans want though.

we have any chance of getting a decent manager in, it wont be until summer at earliest, and that depends what state brendan has left us in as well.

We should approach Simeone and see if he wants the job, there's nothing more he can do at Athletico and imo we'd be getting a great young manager and a no nonsense play for the shirt or you're out manager. IMO he's exactly what we need not soppy bollox Klopp who imo will be a quivering mess under the pressure here.

simeone is unrealistic. He is not leaving a top spanish side unless pushed. he is a legend there already and has bigger fish to fry

Klopp... topped his cl group. that will hold him in germany i feel... he will not move til may. thier league position is merely temporary.

Rafa?? he's nearing end of contract and honestly they might not get CL football. the 3rd place in italy is up for grabs but its seriosuly tight.... for me If the money is right rafa would jump ship there

    every other manager? doubt that............

the thing is as of today........ 4th is not impossible but requires at least two buys of real players and a manager capable of driving the improvement.... i aint happening under rodgers so the only thing i can see right now is LFC ending up 8th and I HOPE (no seriously HOPE) we win the elague cup to get europe.

Rodgers will go in may.... FSG will fail the club by doing this but they've faield with this structure anyway they got talked into.

Big problem when we signed Rodgers is that he isn't a lure for players at all. We have missed out on countless top players; Costa, Sanchez, Willian, Mykitarian (spelling) and so on.
Confidence is now completely gone in the squad and will be like this for the rest of the season. Only pick up will be the summer when we can start again.

Why? He's already overacheived there, what more can he do? Athletico are a team I like but they are always going to be 3rd or less on most occasions. We have to be ambitious and see if he's available if no then fine but at least we've tried.

As for Rodgers being sacked, the points raised in this thread are exactly why FSG will leave him be IMO until May. He's spunked hundreds of millions of their cash too, so they will give him time. I believe the only way BR will get the shove before May is if we are flirting with the relegation zone after Jan

Klopp - not under any pressure from the fans or board, but he could feel like he can't achieve much more. I think he is a serious option.

Simeone - would be ambitious and has been quoted to be learning English so a move to England at the end of the season is not unrealistic. If City don't win the league, maybe Pellegrini could be gone? Is Van Gaal a short term solution for United? Mourinho won't leave Chelsea, and will Wenger resign/leave?

De Boer - his brother has said that RDB would seriously consider an offer from LFC. Would be a great choice and possibly the most realistic IMO. Liverpool would be a step up from Ajax.

The 3 above are the young-ish choices that we should look towards. Only issue is that they are most likely to leave at the end of the season.

If that is the case - we should look to an older/experienced interim manager.

    Capello would be brilliant IMO.

    Agree with this.

Top managers are very clever as well e.g. IF we lost to Arsenal next week and Rodgers was sacked it would be quite simple to come in and drag LFC from 10th/11th to 5/6th this year without any pressure of top 4.

Then you have the summer to get your additions in and have a better season than this one and it's seen as successful.

still in CL for one... can still win a copa even if the leagu looks tough as hell this year. they are 7 points down but crdible.

If simone is going anywhere it will be in summer as more of this players are poached. This is why mourinho is thought of as a genius... he gets out while the going is good. Simeone can have his pick this summer.

this is not now thouhg... no way.

for me of the guys right now only Rafa would walk out and join us in january.... he knows full well his napoli journey is about over.

BUt if you are on for a success of your own this season like simeone can be you are not moving and the same applied to klopp.... both men need to move on in the summer however IMO cos the reason you both give long term apply... they simply won't matter in january....

I would only have Rafa as an interim manager, and even then I'd still be reluctant.

I get the feeling that Rodgers has lost the dressing room and once that happens, there's no way back for a manager.

I think you are prob right on de boer but for me i don't know.......... He should bloody well be able to organize a defense though...

I think you've nailed it on interim older man. Capello is the only one on a very short list of such men around now.

I agree on both points BTW.

while rafa is the only one i see on the list as really available I'd be extreme reticent too... technical direcotr yes please but manager no.

I agree on dressing room. I think coutinho shows it every time he does play.
