Does that mean they won't sign this lad Sigundsson?

Will he go to Liverpool instead? Or, will another club go in for him?

    Like us maybe?

Set to be appointed in the next 48 hours.

Reckon Swansea will struggle now and go down

Wonder if Sigurdssen is having second thoughts now? Hope we hijack their bid, come on Mon

I think tigers is a perfect fit for Liverpool, I wouldn't mind trying to get a couple of the Swansea players as well if he does go as there may be an exodus.

Only player I would take from Swansea is Scott Sinclair, personally don't think any of the other's would improve us and I would only take him to offer competition to McClean. I would love it if we beat them to the signing of Sigurdsson but we would have to move fast.

Personally think Rodgers should stay at Swansea and build upon the good work he has done. Liverpool fans are deluded they will never be happy with Rodgers, I bet there fans are going mad with the managers they are being linked with and why they aint going for the likes of Guardiola.

I think Liverpool should be going for Van Gael

    yep..

Brendan Rodgers has agreed a deal to become the new manager of Liverpool Football Club.
The 39-year-old is understood to have agreed a three-year contract at Anfield and his appointment is likely to be officially confirmed within 24 hours.

Now a done deal, but if things dont go well immediately, and the fickle scouse fans turn on him, he will come to regret the move.

He wouldn't work with a director of football. I think martinez is a far better manager than rodgers personally but Liverpool are simply not the force they once were.

They will be lucky to finish top 10 next season imo.

Recon they will cest, but they are as you say, not the invincibles of the seventies, and to be perfectly honest, I love them as much as I love Newcastle. same sort of fans, same sort of attitude.

tbh, as much as I hate the scousers (and they are my most despised team including the mags), I think they'll be up there competing for europe again next season, possibly even sneaking a CL spot depending what happens to RVPFC over the summer. Liverpool wont ever fall like leeds did imo, purely because of fanbase, they STILL have one of the highest incomes of any club in the world - I think I read somewhere that as recently as last year they were still one of the top five earning clubs in the world. Add to that their rich american owners and they have money to burn, and are still a top name in terms of attracting the best players (the money helps of course). Maybe not in the man utd, barca, real league any more, but just a step below imo.

Mark my words, liverpool FC will be competing for european placs again next season.

Reckon he will be out of his depth, but LFC have been sliding for years and living on past glories. Too many ordinary players signed for mega bucks.

This, I reckon he should of stopped at Swansea and built a team. I am a believer that you should never leave an unfinished job - which is what i think Rodgers has done.

    Not yet.

Sky Sports sources understand Liverpool are stalling on the compensation fee Swansea are demanding for manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Swans confirmed on Wednesday talks between the two clubs were under way after Rodgers revealed he wanted to leave the Liberty Stadium for Merseyside.

The Welsh club's chairman, Huw Jenkins, said on Wednesday evening he expected the issue of compensation to be resolved within the next 24 hours, with Liverpool poised to confirm Rodgers as their new manager sometime on Thursday.

However, it appears talks have hit a snag, with the Reds reluctant to pay a release fee reported to be in the region of £3-5million.

Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue on Thursday, with the discrepancy over compensation appearing to be the only barrier preventing the move.

I think Rodgers will be given a warchest and I'll be very interested to see what he does with it! Never really had buckets of cash before and sometimes it can end in disaster...Still, one metronomic passer in midfield and a bit more quality on the wings and Liverpool will be a serious threat!
