  3. If Reina came back, he'd get my support. I've never said any different. However, he's made his bed and I don't see Brod going back now.

He'll never come back after the way he felt he was treated by Brent

  5. Although I agree, Reina wouldn't have much choice since he's under contract.

Edit: actually, he could buy his contract out since its more than two years old

I'm not so sure.....Rodgers appears to be a humble man, I think that if it was heartfelt and he knew that it would benefit the team, he would. The onus would be on Pepe to convince him though......all that said, I very much doubt it'll happen!!!

  9. I don't think Reina wouldn't sink to that level considering his comments since last summer.

    I live in hope! <laugh>

Unfortunately, I agree with you......I say unfortunately as I still believe he'd be perfect for our style of play and Migs could learn a lot from him.

He fluttered his eyelashes at Barca a bit, I don't think that deserves permanent exile. He's still a great keeper and Migs could learn a lot from him. I actually miss Reina - his feet, his distribution, his organisation of the back 4, although he's not a better shot stopper than Mig

  12. Given a straight choice between Reina and Migs, I'd prefer Pepe. However, I don't think he is the keeper he was and I'm never one for going back either so I say we move on. Sell Reina and have done with it <ok>

    I agree.

Did anyone notice that throughout the season Mingo improved with the ball at his feet? He's young and willing to learn.

Hmmmm.....I think his stats in Italy were pretty good.....and he's still a decent age for a keeper. Question is, who could we possibly buy for the £5m we'd sell him for that was better? I'd keep him but he'd really have to want to come back.....personally, he'd be my #1 for his distribution, sweeping, command of the box, organising the defence......although I agree with prior posters, Migs is an immense shop stopper.....but we need more than that.

During pre-game warm ups he practices his distribution longer than his shot stopping!...and yes, I think he did improve but has a long way to go yet....and it isn't just ball at feet, Reina could hit a pound coin on the half way line with his throwing ability.....I'd of loved to see that last year tbh.

  16. Its not just £5m though, he's rumoured to be on £100k per week too. That's £5.2m from this seasons budget in wages!

I think Migs is going to be the number one no matter what happens with Reina or any other potential keeper coming in so why not get a good young keeper with lots of potential instead?

  17. I think Migs is better with his feet than people give him credit for. We've been spoilt with Reina and Migs is having to live up to the standard Pepe set. IMO, there isn't a better keeper in the world with the ball at his feet than Reina.

Migs is a good young keeper with potential isn't he? I have to admit that I don't think of wages here....more what we absolutely need between the sticks.....I guess reality should win out at the end of the day though <ok>

  19. Wages are part and parcel of any budget we have so it has to be considered. People are probably getting fed up of me saying it but each player is a financial package that includes all costs; transfer fee, signing on fee, agent fee, wages, etc.

PS...Migs is 26 which is young for a keeper but not the young potential that I meant <ok>

Agree that financial common sense is sweeping clean, shame FFP hasn't clobbered City & PSG as it should have and then we'd all be under no illusion...

As for Migs, for some reason, I thought he was younger! not sure why......I'd have to start questioning how much he can actually improve some of his weaknesses at 26. At that age, his learning curve is starting to flatten out. Frankly, for the type of footy we play, we need a cheap Reina! <laugh>
