    obvious dumb stuff:

starting or subbing on shola OR alan smith EVER, EVEN AGAINST KETTERING IN FA CUP OR SOMETHING, NEVER EVER

    using mcloven frequently...

Playing guthrie over abeid or vuckic

not bollocking shola and sending him to the reserves

not making changes quickly enough and making dumb changes.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like pards but his subs are often **** (apart from sammy but should be sooner)

Also i wonder how long it will take him to stop using shola, even as a sub...

Yeah he needs to stop playing Shola immediately. The only possible explanation is that it's some sort of example to the younger players that if they act professional and work hard in training then they'll be rewarded with first team action because apparently Shola is dedicated as hell in training. There can't be any other explanation simply because it's clear as day to even the dumbest zoo animal that Shola is ****ing awful when he plays. Regardless, this must stop now; we could have won that Villa game if he'd not brought on Shola.

On Guthrie though I'm not sure; sometimes he is fantastic but other times piss poor and it wouldn't be a straight forward call considering Vuckic and Abeid haven't had very much/any PL time. I would certainly like to see more of Abeid and Vuckic though because theyre skilled young players who look eager to show off how good they are.

Aye he has a fair bit of improvement to make on match day but I think he is still probably gauging where we're at and erring on the side of caution. If we continue to move along nicely he may get braver. I do feel sorry for him and Hughton though. They are judged (by me too) despite having little at their disposal in attacking options. Obviously he concerns me with the love of Shola, and I'd probably use Sammy more, but these are small gripes when you consider we are extremely weak up top options wise. When you look back to managers previous, they had the likes of Shearer, Ferdinand, Cole, Beardsley, Asprillia, Bellamy, Ferguson, Owen, Martins to pick backed up by the likes of Mathie, Allen, Kitson, Huckerby, Gallacher, Cort, Lua Lua, capable if not spectacular. Its easy for Alex Ferguson to be brave afterall, he's bringing on top class talent who will deliver. Pardew has to be more selective by virtue of his options.

I just hope that the reason for Shola getting playtime is that he probably doesn't want Sammy getting too far ahead of himself?! Let's hypothetically say Sammy gets subbed on before Shola, to Sammy he might think he's better than Shola already and stop working hard for it? Just guessing.

This is actually a pretty good theory.

I think you're underestimating Sammy. Surely he already knows he has a better game in him than Shola, and more heart and spirit too. He'll never do anything but his best.

Yeah he would already know, but he would also know that he has to keep upping his game to get more chances, so he'd be getting pushed to be an even better player.

I honestly don't think Sammy gives a **** at this stage. He the exuberance of youth on his side, they tend to be fearless. He's level headed even if he is on cloud nine.

You can tell Sammy has a good attitude judging by his tweets, compare him to Ranger who is always moaning. If Shola works hard in training why cant he do it on the pitch. I can understand that they wouldnt want to put Sammy infront of Shola in the pecking order as he is younger and it may stop him upping his game but I think the best option would be to sell Shola in January/End of season. Obviously this wont happen as he has just signed a new deal but we can dream.

    Smith doesn't play.

McLoven hasn't played much, scored in the cup though.

Guthrie is better than both of those at the moment.

    Shola is ****e yes.

All our games have been close games, any subs have to be thought out as they are a huge risk in a tight game.

I just hope he changes a few things to get us some end product. I know Marv, Benny and Santon will be first team players soon, however I remember him leaving Tevez and Mascherano out for Harewood and Reo Coker for far too long.
