Some people on here just want a foreign manager for the sake of it ffs.

If Mon changes his name to Martinez O'Neilius will that be good enough for you?

MoN is the best manager in town and anything other than him (looking at some of the suggestions here and elsewhere) would be a massive step backwards imo.

I want better than what we are seeing at the moment but I also think MoN wants far better as well and in time, he will deliver.

So if Pep Guardiola had the same players we have here how well do you think he'd do? We went with 2 up top for the last 10 minutes on Saturday and conceded - although we were the only team who looked likely to score?

Has been mentioned (and wasn't something I had thought of) but the lack of pace in our defence could be the reason our midfield is always so far from Fletcher - thinking along the lines of not conceding ahead of scoring

I heard the other day, David Vaughan ****ed up in midfield and gave the ball away (Swansea game last week) and the crowd blamed O'Neill - Vaughan was in a position to play a not too difficult pass and he ballsed it up and gave the ball away - what can O'Neill do when the players **** up? It certainly isn;t his fault. The game at the weekend changed after our penalty - we looked the better side for large parts of the second half and it looked destined to end 1-1 (which I think most on here would've been happy with - I certainly would) but then Bramble had to have a Bramble moment

It's no disgrace losing to Reading - they are on the crest of a wave at the moment and a completely different side to the one we beat with ease at the SoL.

Bruce did as well with Wigan as Martinez did (normally better actually - very rarely were they as desperate to get safe as they are now) Martinez is a very Sideways and Backwards manager - and Laudrupp is also playing lovely tippy tappy football with no end product at the moment.

I'll stick with O'Neill ahead of either of those thank you - let him get HIS team in place and go from there

My thoughts about Guardiola are well documented as I reckon my mother could win the title and the European cup with the players he had at his disposal and he has bottled the biggest, toughest league in Europe by going to Germany to hide there for a few years and spin more mythical ****e about his abilities. No ta.

Look, Marcus you have nailed it with this one mate. Player error isnt the managers fault and I think he would replace at least 4, maybe 5 of the team that started on Saturday with new ones if we had the money and availability of replacements at hand. That will happen in the summer imo.

If N'Diaye had squared the ball to DG, instead of impersonating Tony Cullen with one of the ****test shots seen in a decade from 3 yards out, we would have won the game on Saturday and lets not forget, Federici had a blinder and MotM performance.

Its frustrating and pisses us all off (including Martin tbh) but we have to stick with the guy as he is a proven entity not a johnny come lately new kicd on the block or foreign myth. Martinez keepes geting mentioned but he is absolutely ****e imo. In 3 seasons at Wigan I dont think they have been above the bottom 5 for more than a couple of weeks and spend more time in the bottom 3 than most people have hot dinners. Why the **** would anyone want to replace MoN with average run of the mill ****e like him is beyond me.

Fergie didnt get off to a particularly goood start at Man U and if they'd got rid of him in the same time MoN has been here, they wouldn't have all that silverware in their trophy cabinet.

Not saying we are going to do the same by any means but, you've got to give the guy a couple of seasons to make his mark!!

If Mon managed Barcelona they would play the same way as they have very good players that were handed on a plate to Pep!
Speaking of which, what's this Laudrup ****e?
He was handed a ready made team that is playing exactly the same as they were before he arrived!
This makes him some tactical genius?

To the OP, MON would not play like that with Barcalona, get real man hes doing the best with what hes got! Like he said there will be dark times ahead but thats all part of the process of hopefully becoming as established as Everton. We just have to put up with the mediocrity for now and probably next season and poss season after.
