Agreed warky. I don't think he'll go. At least not till season over. And still an if. Lets worry about it should it happen.
I hope if he's going he goes soon while there's still time to climb the table. Ireland could do us a massive favour by acting quickly.
If Mick doesn't come out this afternoon and say something like this (which I think he should): http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/23567/mcdermott-rules-himself-out I think there may be something in it, I'll be dissapointed with Mick if he doesn't
We've had to replace better and worse managers in the past. Would be disappointing to see him go but not the end of the world IMO
I agree and whilst I don't rate him as high as alot of people and he wasn't my favoured choice, given the situation we are in currently, if he left part way through the season I think we really really would struggle this season, I mean I'm pretty sure we'd get relegated
so should he go ptc who would you like or not like to see in the hotseat. i think o'neill is a shoe in for republic job anyway.
I have no idea tbh, I've always advocated Paul Tisdale (or someone of similar ilk) or maybe even Darren Ferguson as a long term appointment both have done it at smaller clubs and built them up playing good football but Mick has built very much a Mick team and if one of those came in part through the season with the team we currently have I think we'd struggle
remember you mentioning tisdale. karl robinson is another who appears to be promising. i'm pretty much in agreement with what you say ref. it being a mick team as to whether someone else could shake things up. who knows. it's all hypothetical right now and hopefully for next 8 months at least.
If another manager was to come in I think he would do OK with our squad. We have a couple of players with some technical ability but Mick chooses not to use them at the moment. Another manager would probably use our current personnel in a different way. I certainly don't think we'd get relegated just because we lost Mick.
I hate to break the news to you guys but I am 100% convinced that Mick will stay and see out his contract which runs until 2015. He has never broken a contract in his life and I very much doubt that he will do so now. Despite Evans best efforts in not backing Mick with any funds this Summer.
I do hope so Johnny......if he stays we will make the play-offs at the very least........you mark my words.
I think that would be true for any team except the international job... I hope I'm wrong because I also agree we definitely have a 'Mick' team
