    Just as an interesting aside to gauge reaction...

    When Hughton was sacked and Pardew appointed, we (myself included) were all absolutely appalled at the decision. Hughton was doing a splendid job and Pardew had no real discernible CV, apart from a couple of promotions and an FA Cup final appearance.

    Of course, we were all pleasantly surprised how he proved us wrong.

    However, for a second, let's just pretend last season didn't happen. Pretend this is November 2011, or what have you.

    What would the general opinion be on Pardew then?

    Same as it was when he joined, patchy record and a risk. Thankfully last season did happen and he has proved competent. Time has proven we were correct about Hughton though.
