What do you think will happen IF Owen Hargreves proves his fitness to MH? It's not that long ago that he was considered by many as one of the best midfielders in England and when fit, had a starting place in the engine room of the England team. He could yet prove to be a real gem for us. I am well aware of his injuries over the last 3 odd years but MH has a reputation for his teams being really fit and if Hargreaves gets through a MH pre-season, surely he must be ok!!!!! I know many of you won't want to hear this but he would easily be our best/experienced player and would have to be one of the first names on the team sheet. IMO a much better player than Ali.
Even if we got 15 games out of him it would be a real bonus. A top player. Pay as you play contract would be ideal.
Exactly. The only downside is that he picks up an early injury. Then it has wasted a squad place, a-la Dyer. But as you say he would be a great asset for us even for fifteen games.
Owen Hargreaves = Glass cannon - doesnt matter how promising he is or how well he plays, he will be injured for most the season, just like Dyer.
He WAS a very good player. Not sure he can ever be as good again after the injuries. Think I'd prefer Ali.
