Firstly I don't blame Nicky for wanting to go on to a bigger, better club. It's a natural thing to do and we all do it in the real world. I would do the same in his position.

However, if I were Nicky I would wait to see how January plays out and if I was still at City I would then sign a 3 year contract with a release clause of 6-8 million if a prem club makes such an offer. I would remain loyal to the club that had developed me and looked after me through a serious injury. Also I would know that whatever club made such a bid would actually want me as part of their plans as opposed to someone picking me up for free and then me possibly warming their bench for the foreseeable.

The agent probably brainwashes these players though and I doubt whether they would see it my way. Maybe I'm too nice for my own good but I would want to see the club who had been loyal to me to get something for my services.

    Whatever happens, good luck Nicky!

This would be a ideal situation for all.
But NM does not want to play ball for some reason.
    Hence the anger at Coventry.

Agreed Wiz, I don't think I can stomach him leaving on a free though. The board is as much to blame though. I think I would sign an additional contract at the end of Jan though. Maybe that's because I support and love the club though.

He is a cracking lad and that goal meant a lot to him by the way he celebrated it the other night.

You could see his frustration throughout the game too as the service was awful. As I said you can't knock someone for wanting to improve themselves. Just want something back for a talented footballer.

From what I've heard I think his agent is behind a lot of this unwillingness to be helpful......

Agents have a lot to answer for, and perhaps if they focused more on their clients needs than their own personal greed the game would be a whole lot better.

I like AshtonMatt's suggestion and I have advocated a similar suggestion before, and how nice it would be to see a bit more support from Nicky and I wish him well.

Come on Nicky you know it's the gentlemanly thing to do to repay the loyalty from the club. Go on man!

Pitman will be ok but will need to feed off a strong forward who will hold the ball of for him.
Would love to see a team set up like this
    ..................James.....................
    Skuse ...Carey..Fontaine..McGiven
    ..................Cisse.......................
    Adomah...Pitman..Maynard...Pearson
    ..................Stead........................

And when Maynard goes Micheal Knightly in that position, and a new CB in place of Carey

Sorry Redordead, but we’d be very overrun in midfield with Cisse and two strikers there with him. There are only a few players I could imagine being able to play lone front man one week and hard grafting central midfield the next and the names don’t include NM. Try Pele, Cryff, Villa, Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney and Gerrard.
