With the luck he carries, I'd get off and wait for the next one. Lol I make no secret of the fact I dont think he should be our manager any more but thats not the text of this post so please dont make it so. All I am thinking is that I do think he is a decent and an honest bloke at heart and he must be thinking this afternoon, after news that Titus has been arrested, that he is just a bloody unlucky bugger all round. He comes to SAFC and its a big opportunity for him. He starts well enough and stabilises in his first year, bringing into the club a striker as good as anywhere in the country who instantly hits it off with fans and players and manager. Then the **** starts to hit the fan. Injuries do play a large part in the team planning going to pot and a massive losing streak; the player of the Year and star striker gets involved romantically with his daughter and all of a sudden he wants out, or is just looking for a wage rise whichever story you want to believe; he is persuaded to stay but inevitably leaves in acrimonious circumstances in Jan; the club Captain, who he only signed the previous close season, gets home sick and wants away, after his father is involved in a murder trial back home; The replacement for Jones is brought in but inside 10 months is also wanting away and then all of his loan players that have done so well leave and dont come back. Then he decides to sell a defender for whom he has heaped praise upon all summer, played all close season and for all the opening fixtures for a reasonable amount of money but which has weakened the options available imo. The team have undoubtedly struggled this season but just when he thinks it cant get any worse, his favourite centre forward in a settled back 4, goes and gets arrested for sexual assault and possession of a class A drug this morning? Christ, he must have smashed a dozen mirrors in the last 12 months to be be this unlucky. Whilst some of these events are out of his control, his decision making and team building plans have been reckless and without thought and it has come back to bite him on the arse today. I dont blame him though for the actions (allegedly of course) of old Tight Arse. Still, if he was boarding the same plane as me at the moment, I'd get straight off and wait for the next one for sure. Poor old Brucie. I actually feel sorry for the bugger tonight and hope he wins on Saturday now by a handsome margin. He still isn't my pick as manager but as a bloke, he deserves better luck than this today.
Totally agree but sometimes in life you make your own luck. Lets hope for a good win on Saturday and a change in Bruces fortunes
Great post cest and some very sympathetic posts in support. Now lets all unite at the match on Saturday and show the management and players that we will support them and do our bit as a small part of the team that is Sunderland FC. If they have any pride they will rise to the occasion and give us a performance full of character and fight which will, of course, result in a rsounding win. Incidentally anyone read Richardson's and O'Shea's apologies on TalkSport.
Bill, I didn't want this to become a BoB or BiB thread but I share your sentiments regarding his status as SAFC manager. However, throwing derbies to one side (ahem Lol), I think Bruce is a heart on your sleeve kinda guy who doesnt deserve to have this arrest of one of his buys today. Bramble, if guilty, has badly let the manager down imo as have several players inc O Shea and Brown on Monday night. They are Champions League winners who looked like Sunday morning has beens and they too badly let the manager down when he needed them most on Monday. Bruce is out of his depth but he needed his big players to walk tall. I doubt whether Bramble can ever wall tall in football again after this today.
Sometimes life gives you lemons... Sometimes it makes you a naturally very talented footballer who can earn a **** load off that and then a **** load more as a manager even though you don't seem to have a great aptitude for it. If he's unlucky, I'd hate to be lucky.
Cest, I stopped posting as a temp measure because all we talked about/ all people were interested in was Buce in/out, when you post an article a response should IMO happen, so thats all Im doing now, ensuring that whoever posts gets a reply, hence hopefully becoming full time subscribers, I dont however respond to an event thats happening live, while Ive been at work at work, so was unable to paticipate easy to comment after the fact, and easy to make yourself a berk. then the others. check where my replys are and you can see the folk on the ignore list, ****in pond life, to name but one Agent ashly, plonker. But Cest Bruce ripped this team apart, rebuilt it, AAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDD, **** ALL. a decent manager, a real manager would have said, some of the previous signngs are good enough, unfortunatly Bruce historically cant do this, check out Brum and his performance there, and look at the team he left and where they are now, and were we may be next season, sick of this lets push on bullshit, I want it now not WHEN Im DEAD.
