I've been hearing a lot of talk recently from professional pundits about how Capello should go ahead of the Euro Finals, and that an English manager should be given a crack. We all know that that means Harry would be first choice. Harry has made no bones about the fact that if he is offered the job he would bite the FA's hand off. Of course, there is no guarantee that the FA would offer the job to Harry, just in case something falls out of a hidden closet to embarrass them. But, let's assume that Harry does leave at the end of this season to take up the England job, who would you like to see take over as manager of the mighty Spurs?
Ancelloti has already expressed an interest. Whether he would be interested in the wages we're liable to offer, is another matter.
David Moyes all the way for me. Imagine what that man could do with a bit of money and a chairman who doesn't insist on selling his best players every transfer window.
Senior source at FA says that Fabio Capello is considering a job at Anzhi. If there is any depth to this could we be losing Harry sooner rather than later. (source Twitter Talksport)
Thats just it, you have to imagine it. All we know is, he has failed in his one crack at the CL and got no further than us on one occasion in the uefa cup. They were crap in the league too. Ancelloti for example has proved he can juggle the PL and European football. No other top club has considered poaching Moyes either. No better than what we have?, some may say not as good, no-one would say better. A risky punt for me.
Ancelotti or Coyle if we couldn't get Carlo. Moyes wouldn't have Spurs playing the sort of football we like and have been used to seeing.
Martin O'Neil has also been sitting out quite a few offers, waiting for the right one. I think he'd be superb for us.
I wouldn't want that. Spurs is a full-time job. The England job would be too great a distraction for him. We need a manager fully focussed on us.
I hope we find NEW MANAGER in less time than it took us to find NEW STRIKER. Yes: Ancelotti, Hiddink, or someone of that ilk. Moyes is also a good, more attainable shout. Hughes would also do a good job I feel. No: Coyle - yet to prove himself at this level so too much of a risk, O'Neill - seems to have trouble motivating players, Jol - love the man but falls short tactically I fear.
He had a tough qualifier against Villareal(or was it Valencia?) and had lost a couple of senior players. I mean anyone that could get Graveson playing well enough for Real Madrid to want him deserves an award. And when was the last time Everton had enough players in a squad to compete in more than one competition? He hasn't had a lot of money to spend and when he has he's spent pretty well. The closest to a flop is probably bilyaledendinayillybantu-ov and he's still a good player. My reservations over him are that we need to hit the ground running and get back into the CL this season and Ancelloti has a proven track record in that. Also, Ancelotti's name would carry more weight to it and help us to convince the likes of Modric to stay as well as bringing in other big names, although I'm still not convinced he would come.
Coyle is an incredibly overrated manager, Bolton have never played attractive football under him and they have been in terrible form for the last 6 months or something.
Couldn't agree more, people still seem to be judging him based on his early days at Bolton, which is always an unreliable time to judge a manager on, of course the Bolton players are going to play well for him after Megson. Having said that, he did win promotion with an absolutely terrible Burnley side so he must have something going for him.
Also I have a lot of time for Moyes, he is forced to sell his best players to keep the club afloat and also seems to have had terrible luck with injuries, yet still secures mid-table or better year after year. He even made Pienaar look like a superb player.
Moyes for me, can bring out the best of a team and must be getting fed up at Everton and their lack of spending. Also within our price range,i would think.
