I wouldn't go higher than 2.5m Weirdly, I though Hobbs looked a better player when you last played us, he seems to have grown into the role as captain at Hull. Funny how different clubs work for different players.
I think we should never of got rid of Hobbs. He was alot better then some of the replacements Sven got Mee, Bruma. I think Hobbs is better then St. Ledger aswell. I think Mills is better then Hobbs but not by a million miles
Vitor was by far the best Centre Half i've seen at his age at this level. He'll be champions league quality when he's matured a bit. How I wish we still had him. Wish we'd payed the 5m Benfica wanted him rather the 5m Reading wanted.
A cliche it's true - but Football IS all about opinions - for me, I suspect both Mee and Bruma will go further in the game than Hobbs will, but with young players you can never be absolutely sure - the FA cup replay at the Etihad last season showed that Hobbs was a long way from being ready for the Premier League - Tevez waltzed through Jack's powder puff challenge to score in the first half then sold him the most obvious dummy (that Jack bought) to win a penalty - Sven realised that the kid was short of what was required for the owner's short term ambitions, and acted accordingly. Don't get me wrong, I hope Jack makes it eventually, but the fact that Nigel wants Chester demonstrates what he feels about their relative prospects ...
I will agree with you on Bruma but not Mee. Bruma has great potential as a holding midfielder but as a centre half he was a little suspect at times and i think Ben Mee will never make anything more then an average championship centre half Hobbs is injured until the new year so that probably explains why there is no rumours about Hobbs
Making a remarkable recovery apparently, this is him this morning... http://lockerz.com/s/206067750 Obviously he's still out for a long time, but maybe not as long as originally anticipated.
I hope he dont suffer because of the injury. Very good defender and top lad aswell. Always got on with the City fans even when we played he come back here with Hull and Fryatt was being an arsehole
Bid that was rejected was £1.5 million apparently. I'd guess we'd go back in at around £2-2.5 million.
Nigel should perhaps show a little respect to his previous employers & stop shopping there. The relationship is already strained, but it looks like getting a lot worse.
You'd be wasting your time, I don't they'll look at anything less than £3m, probably £4m if the bid was from Leicester. Edit - On reflection, scrub that, in current circumstances I don't think they'd entertain a £3m bid either, they simply can't afford to flog our best player at the moment, it would cost them more than that in season ticket sales and they're in enough **** as it is.
Thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard. Say you used to work for Tesco and leave. Is it then disrespectful to do your shopping there?
AKCJ I've missed you, you always were my favourite wum. Will you be appearing on our board anytime soon?
I hope we don't get Chester or any other CB's, we have 4 perfectly capable centre backs here and Mills I think should play more of a part next season rather than wasting more money. I know most won't agree with me but I think our priority should be right back, left midfield and a goal scoring striker. I'm now donning my hard hat for defending Mills
