If Chester is our 'top target' then Mills must surely be on his way ....

Mills is going either way. If Mills had any future he would have been involved in the last few months. He hasnt played since we lost 3-2 to Watford and since then he has only been named on the bench once against Birmingham.

It will be interesting to see if the Allams are taking the same stance with your mob.

If they sell Chester for less than £2.5 Million I'll eat my face with a spoon.

By the article about Koren wanting some clarity at the club it seems if things carry on how they are or get worse then i think the Allams will have no choice soon but to sell their best players as they are going to want out

The Allams need to sort out their mess really quick and get in someone who the players will want

I think our situation will be sorted pretty quickly, people are saying Nick will officially be sacked today. Hopefully we'll see what's going on in the next week.

I don't blame you and Forrest for putting bids, this is the perfect time to get our players.

There's Premier League interest in Chester, Everton are rumoured to be looking at a £4m bid, he's definitely our most valuable player and he definitely won't come cheap.

But is sacking Barmby just going to upset the players further? Some of the players might wanted to follow Nigel out the door but maybe because Barmby gave you stability they decided to stay. Now that is gone they might want out again

Thats because they sold Arteta and Beckford in August. They didnt have time to spend the money then. Plus they got 1.5M knocked off the top because Rangers still owed them 1.5M from when they signed Michael Ball for 6.5M years ago

Plus having 5M for a striker and having 4M for a centre half are totally different. Strikers are always worth more and teams are prepared to pay more

Fourth official says Everton have money and I tend to believe him.

Fettis - we bid £7 million for Jelavic a lot earlier in the season but Rangers did not want (have) to sell at the time ... I'm not trying to wind Hull fans up but having our owners does mean that we can compete in terms of bids and, indeed, wages - Chester may well be ambitious for premier league footie as soon as possible but may also want to play regularly - however good he is it would be difficult to push ahead of Jagielka, Distin and Heitinga .. Nigel Pearson obviously has a tremendous regard for the lad and, for all we know, the lad may see him as some sort of role model / mentor who has already improved his game since they've known each other etc

Everton owe the bank alot of money and the bank are refusing to lend them anymore. David Moyes admitted this publicly

Fourth official is pretty accurate but not always right

Alternatively, he might think he's a bit of a **** for not going to see any of the players before he left(he left Walsh and Shakespeare to do it).

Fourth Official posts a lot on FoxesTalk in the transfer section.

He's in the Chester thread a lot and i've not seen him say anything about Everton making a bid and he's an Everton fan and he apparently knows Chester's family.

He says Chester wants to move in the north west.

Mills was always going - fell out with Pearson, is on high wages and has played crap 2 out of every 3 games he played for us.

Does the bid for Chester mean that St Ledger is leaving - that radio interview after the Leeds game did sound like a goodbye speech...

I haven't seen enough of the lad to say ... but we paid £4m for our last centre-half (Matt Mills) and it sounds to me that Chester is already a better player and certainly one with more potential - if we could offload Mills for 50% of what we paid then a bid of around £4m (either up front or conditional) for Chester would not be implausible - if Pearson is convinced the lad is THAT good ..
