great read and he stated a lot of what i was on about last season with Danny and the wingers. Danny will relish this type of football and even though he never got on the score sheet he was one of the star players. he run a lot under rodgers and you could see he was trying so hard but looked uncomfortable and out of position quite a lot defending in our own half. Im really chuffed that we have a manager that knows how we should play and score goals that will force opponents to make mistakes trying to catch us. Im also glad our possession has dropped as most of it was inside our own half anyway and while that is happening we were not in the opponents half. ok one win don't make a season but what a well executed win away from home that took us until January under rodgers to do.....I like what i see and teams will be very concerned about us now....bring them on i say as we play the laudrup way....

100% agree Dai, all that passing for passing`s sake last season really chuffed me off now & again. Passing with purpose is much more enjoyable and attractive to watch. Yes we`ll probably concede more goals, but on yesterdays performance, we`ll probably score quite a few more as well.

We`ve only played one game, early days yet, but looking good. Three points to our first target of forty, 111 points left to get 37 ....................... or more, a lot more hopefully.

I don't think Laudrup will abandon possession football altogether - our stats proved that yesterday - but he'll insist on our team getting goals. The writer of that article is spot on. PLayers like Allen slowed down the play far too much last season. In fairness he was probably following instructions. On the evidence of yesterday that will change and the shackles are well and truly off.

    A great read that. <ok>
