No way! My opinion of Bruce as a manager will not blind me from what Gyan did to him. No way back, even if Bruce is long gone.
Yes, he's a class act with a good attitude and work-rate on the field. True, he came back for this season not looking the part at all. But this isn't the first time Bruce's tactics have driven a striker away, and I'm not going to blame Gyan too much. If he wanted to play for a new manager, I'd stand up and applaud the lad onto the pitch.
I would be interested to hear his true feelings on the matter. I mentioned ages ago about him leaving the pitch shaking his head after spending the whole match chasing lost causes and lumped up field balls. He clearly didn't like the way we were playing. TBF I don't think he got a fair crack of the whip in most games.
I wouldn't think a new manager would want him, he'll know his heart wasn't in it under Bruce and the manager will get rid of players who he feels aren't committed enough.
NO. He's paid a lot of money to do a job and he should have just got on and done it. Are we going to expect our players to only put the effort in when they're entirely happy with the set-up on the pitch?
But Gyan has never spoken badly about Sunderland AFC, has he? Perhaps he'd love to line his pockets over there for a year (and who can blame him for that?) and come back and start afresh under a new manager. If he wants to do that, then we should be so lucky. There are very few people now who think that Bruce will see this season out - maybe that's Gyan's thinking too. Can you blame him?
If his head was sorted and he convinced me that was was here for the long haul, warts & all - I would deffo have him back because he is quality. Bart
A good poser of a question, Gyan was our one class act, but as much as I like him, recon he will only come back to shake a few hands, empty whats left in his locker and move on. sad realy.
