Ireland/Ben Arfa be available? If not then Guthrie?

    Guthrie - Nolan - Tiote - Jonas
    ---------Ranger -- Best

Ben Arfa wont be available and Ireland will probaly be on bench. I thought Guthrie was injured but if not then yes, he should play

Not Ben Arfa I wouldn't think, but maybe Ireland, I'd feel more comfortable with him on the right rather than Guthrie.

    or

    Guthrie----Tiote---Nolan----Jonas

    or

    Ireland*----Tiote---Nolan----Jonas

    *if ready.

I don't want to see Guthrie on the right as he's awful their.

If we haven't got any wide midfielders - aren't Ireland, Guthrie, Gosling and HBA all still going to be missing? - we may have to play 5-3-2 using Simpson and Enrique as wing backs. Not my preferred style but it may end up being our only choice.

Yeah Simpson plays well as a wingback when he's allowed to overlap. Can really boot some great crosses in and he seems more confident on the ball in the last 6-7 games.

Simpson in midfield is very interesting, could just work, maybe even Saylor there? Or is that too crazy?

Anyway we expect Barton to be fit, which is good because: Guthrie's injured and poor on the wing, Lover is very ineffective on the wing, Ferguson is good but largely untested, Ben Arfa ia unfit and I doubt Ireland will be ready for a start, expect a sub app for Everton.

Agree, if Ireland and Barton arent fit for Everton I'd like us to go for it with Jose and Simpson, but then that would mean Jonas in CM with Nolan and Tiote, which could just work as well mind.

Saylor put one of the best crosses of the game in yesterday after his run down the right flank.

Absolutely! I think that would be a good formation and well worth a try.
